Burps during tutorials? I salute you sir, most impressive.

Great tutorial and brilliant idea. It may be due to my rare usage of such an effect in GIMP, but I don't think I've stumbled across, or even had the slightest inclination of doing such an effect that way. I have been using GIMP quite religiously, for (I think,) over five years now on certain things in my sign shop. Till this day I still learn new things, as if I were a clueless noob... Great work sir.

I used your video to make a letter "I" for my GIMP test Final in school. The letter I goes into my image for Industrial Light and Magic. Very fitting for it. Thank you!

Had to fill in some blanks (alpha to selection in the beginning wasn't clear to hear but saw it on close inspection) and didn't quite get the new layers to only affect the selection, but got the general idea and came pretty close to copying the older Gimp's chrome effect. Thanks. And maybe think about laying off the Coke before a show? ;)

When downloading batman forever text from dafont, what folder do u put it into to make appear in the fonts on Gimp????? plz respond

@DopeAvatar Download it from dafont , open up the gimp folder in program files and drop it into the fonts folder.then open gimp , that should work.havent done it in ages though.

How did you get that layout for gimp? its all black and cool!

@IFuzionDesignz yah obviously that would be what everybody would do...but when i go into program files, then GIMP 2 then shared and then there is no fonts folder, theres brushes and lots of other things but not fonts

lol thanks , although im 15 ive moved on to Photoshop . you should give that a try as in my opinion it is better for people in there late teens or older ;) although some simply prefer gimp !

Hello FuzionDesignz: First, I want to thank you for posting this - I recently got GIMP 2.6 and am SLOWLY learning it. That Batman logo looks realliy cool! Question: I'm in the process of coloring some original Transformers characters and can this chrome effect be used for the body of the robot? Just curious. Anyway, really cool tutorial and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

@TheMurSnipes If you have windows 7, you need to extract the downloaded font file and then on the extracted folder, right click to install the file(s) that have the letter A on it. Hope that helped (:

It's Gimp 2.6. He downloaded the GimpThemes for the black theme. (Aurora Midnight, I think.) :)

Only PC does about 200% more than mac. Other than that, Some people (Like me) prefer Photoshop. Although I do enjoy using, and use GIMP. Simply because I'm not interested in paying metric asstons of money for photoshop.

When are people going to learn that GIMP is just as good as Photoshop, and sometimes, better in certain areas? I mean, yeah, there's things that Photoshop can do that GIMP can't, like active layer styles, but, there's always a way around it. Photoshop is a damn good image editor, to be sure, but, really, to say that you're getting GIMP just because you can't afford Photoshop is like saying that you're getting a PC just because you can't afford a Mac; they both do the same thing...
