I have been playing with GIMP for over a year now... Watching videos to learn how to manipulate photos... I stumbled upon one of yours; and impressed, I watched another... I can honestly say that I have learned more in roughly eight minutes of your instruction than I have in the entire time that I have been using GIMP. Thank You so much, and please keep up the great work!!!

Using the eraser tool, there IS a way to recover "lost" pixels; using the tool while simultaneously pressing the ALT key will reshow any "lost" pixels as long as the image has an alpha channel. I add an alpha channel to all my images just for this reason.
