    The lockbar and detent are what control the action. The bearings dont really change the action much if at all. This is something proven since they came out with washers. There are other reasons why your action may have changed.

  • @tallica4life81

    @@Quagmire925 steel bearings do too. I think it all depends if the titanium has been hardens or not. Like one of my zt knives the steel bearings are into the titanium within a week on the factory bearings. It’s an older one a zt0095bw. My hinderers haven’t. I’ll find out in time. I will just go back to my washers if I need to in time. I like the washers anyways on hinderers.

    This seems to be becoming a trend.....my biggest frustration is that you all appear to be taking a random approach to this ...... 'eyeballing' or 'suck it a see' to determine if the bearings will work. Most knife manufacturers as far as I'm aware don't advertise the dimensions of the bearings they use....so surely you would start by determining what size bearings your knife has so you can find a suitable replacement?.......rather than 'guessitmating'. Maybe better to show people how to measure or at least accurately compare bearings before you needlessly purchase a bunch of bearings to throw into your knife hoping they fit and the action improves. Its like having a random bolt then going on the internet and expecting to be able to select a nut that fits with out determining the size, pitch or thread ...... fundamentally seems backward.

  • @NeevesKnives

    @NeevesKnives

    3 жыл бұрын

    You can email any knife company for bearing dimension and they will let you know what size for any model they sell, also theres a spread sheet, showing how to measure is a great idea which definitely could of helped but to be certain id just email the company, you need 3 sizes when measuring inside dimension or pivot hole, the outside dimension, and the ball size or thickness docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IMiIjXGoij08hLVWh0iVaOZ5MzCnhW6wByIUJVj1b3Q/htmlview

    @@NeevesKnives I appreciate your response, and enjoyed your video, but this is exactly my point, I think this information in your response could have been valuable in your video. I'm not so confident 'every' knife manufacturer will respond possitively to your enquiries......maybe the better ones, the spreadsheet is a great reference. I do agree there are basical three dimensions, however depending on the original design and how they (the manufacturers) actually built the knife there maybe some other considerations when attempting to replace them. Apologies if this sounded a bit critical, guess its great to see you support small business and it is good to hear your opinion on the bearings, cheers
