Great Shave, Tony! Five blades are two too many for me. In addition to my Mach3, I have been using a Feather 3. Have you tried any of the Feather carts? I believe they are as good as Gillette's. That’s a good question. I can only assume that they don’t believe the Sensor is profitable- vs. the other products in the lineup.

Did you keep the power on while shaving here? I have this Gillette Power fusion razor but I'm afraid to switch the power as I fear it may cut my skin? What should I do? My beard ain't the same as yours. Please guide

Try the power - it doesn’t make the shave more aggressive - it’s supposed to send an electric ⚡️ wave or vibration to the whiskers to make them stand up for easier cutting. Not sure it’s just anything more than marketing hype.

Gillette makes a razor specifically designed for manscaping- it’s called Intimate.

I thought the Mach 3 was first to offer a powered handle.

Good question. I would say that if I had to go with one forever - I’d probably go with the cart, but I really enjoy a relaxing DE shave 🪒

I always like to try gillette's new razors when they come out but in the end I always go back to the Mach 3 👍

You’re right.

That Power Fussion 5 can only improve if you are shaving as you did on natural way...making Razor On...I had a bad experience with exactly Fussion 5 Power when I used a vibration, I gets cut...so Power blades by Gillete didn't improved for my opinion...I passed on Fussion Proglide,..it is a much better shaving experience...

Great shave, Tony. As a DE guy, every time I see someone shaving with a cart, especially one with 5 blades, I cringe a little. That many blades can easily lead to nicks, cuts, irritation and ingrowns. And canned gels...... They can't hold a candle to shaving soaps and their ingredients arent that great for your skin either, lots of propellants and parfuns, no skin food or nutirients like you would find in a soap. That being said, cartridge razors do have their place in the world of shaving, I just wish these big razor companies would make a better cream to use them with.

I find that when shaving with any Gillette Cartridge with 5 blades that there is a lot of tug and catching when shaving my mustache and any hair directly underneath my mouth. I also feel that I have less control while shaving those same areas with a razor with 5 blades like the Gillette Fusion Proglide or the Gillette Labs Exfoliating Razor. Now I'm not shaving every day because when using a Gillette Cartridge with 5 blades I don't find it necessary. I have to say that I still prefer the precision and control of the nearly 30 year old Gillette Sensor Excel Razor. I want to love the new Gillette Labs Exfoliating Razor because of its beautiful design and close shave but frankly I can shave more quickly, safely, and efficiently with my Sensor Excel Razor. If Gillette made a new Gillette Labs Sensor Excel Razor with 2 or 3 blades I think that would be a winning design.

I love the new exfoliating bar razor 🪒 but I can totally see what you are saying! GilletteLabs should definitely release a new two or three blade razor design!

The old , traditional way to shave is every day. The razor companies assume it's customers will shave every day. I get why some guys don't do this. With whiskers too long five blade razors get clogged and tug. The way to handle this is shave with DE safety razor with the grain , then bring in the five blade for a smooth , Wonderful 5 blade shave. If you don't want to use a DE , use a Schick Xtreme 2 ( new name ). They have a push bar that get rid of all whiskers between the blades. Then use the 5 blade ( rethather) and you will be happy 😊😁 !!

I believe I said that towards the end of the video. The one thing the cart razor does better than the DE is to provide a user-friendly experience. No nicks, irritation and leaning curve with this razor as compared to the DE. Thanks for watching 👋🏽

@@averageguytested I've not used a cartridge razor since I switched back to DEs. For me, in-grown hairs on the neck was the biggest drawback of multi-bladed carts. I contend there is a minimal learning curve for DE shaving if one starts with a mild safety razor like the Henson mild. Better yet is the Rockwell 6C. It's cheaper and you get 6 safety razors in one. The R1 plate is very mild and outperforms any cartridge razor I ever used.
