Beautiful work, BJ. You are right. Something about gold "trim" that brings that Umph (is that a word?) to the piece. The only thing is that i would have put the stencil designs on the sides because the top is usually covered by stuff. Love your creativity, your honesty, and your process. Keep it up! I need help. I have a bench/chest that is stained in this horrible orangy stain. I have no experience refinishing furniture so I’ve been looking up how to do it without sanding and restaining & I just watched all your videos and love your style & techniques. So I was thinking about if I painted multiple coats & then did the wet distressing. The problem is on your projects, the original wood will peek through…which looks good depending on the color of the wood. But since my wood is the color of over cooked carrots, I DONT want it to show at all. Do you have any suggestions? If I did a varnish between coats of paint do you think that would help at all?
