Hey Martin, finally subscribed to you... sorry for the delay! One great thing about GIK is their B-stock line - fabulous panels at hugely reduced prices. In my studio I've got 8 on the ceiling, four panels on the walls, bass traps in all the corners, four sound diffusers on the back wall. I record vocals in here as well as listen to masses of music. - Kind regards - Richard

@@UTILITARIANTVUK You are welcome: and having seen another of your videos, I've just picked up the exact WBC cable you reviewed. An open-box bargain on eBay. So, I will be Rotel RCD-991 (FANTASTIC CD player from the 90s), into Marantz PM6007 into Neat Iotas via the WBC. Happy days!

With the greatest respect, you'll get more of an audible improvement by carpeting over that tile floor. This is from someone who owns 2GIK soffit bass traps, 4 GIK tri-trap corner bass units and numerous other acoustic panels. I recently just moved into a new place (tiled floor) and the acoustics are garbage despite the aforementioned treatment: a tiled floor is an acoustic nightmare.. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck!

I've experienced that just recently...moved and now have porcelain tile floors. Room is a bit funkier than my previous but the floor makes a big difference.. especially when I compared my bottom firing floor-standers in the tiled room vs the carpeted spare room.

I absolutely agree with you. However, it's not just my house. I just about got away with placing the panels up! If my wife came home to find her tiled floor carpeted, I don't think she'd be very happy? 😄 Right now I just use a large rug, wife approval rating 8/10.

@@UTILITARIANTVUKi made some 30x30 cm ones with foam and card with a sticky tab. They just come out when i listen to music and hang them on various nails which i swap out for family photos. Drives the misses mad when i just leave them up though. 😅

First of all, I have to praise the installation of panels, very precisely placed👍. You obviously have experience or a feel for assembly. As for the improvement, i think it softened the high frequencies a bit. I'm also thinking about panels, but it's a difficult obstacle to overcome...😉

Dang. The mid-range especially sounds cleaner to me, and that's only with 2 panels. Have you considered doing a REW (Room EQ Wizard) comparison for the room?

I just ordered 2 long narrow ones and didn’t realize they’re made to order and take about a month to deliver here in USA where I believe GIK have a location. Anyhoo if you have a lot stuff in your listening room those will act like absorbers and diffusers. I put some thin dense absorbers behind my listening position and found a diff in clarity of the highs so I thought I’d try these GIKs out on the blank walls to either side of my listening position. I got a 3” absorber panel and a 2” Impression panel which absorbs and diffuses highs mids

I think these do work but so does psychoacoustics. For example when I first moved into my house the lounge sounded echoey, but now I can’t hear the echo. The same with goes for a ticking clock, or humming fridge it just disappears. They look nice though and it probably does change the way sound is reflected on some level.

over you tube I thought the reduction in bass bloom was the most noticable, with a slight impact on the treble, to be honest the mid range sounded much the same witgh that particular track. Bloody good though, wow was not expecting the differnce to be that much, gonna have to pursade the wife now

Heyo! Quality purchase there. GIK certainly well regarded company with good reason it seems, haven't use them myself as of yet. Different cables there are indeed differences, get acoustic treatment you can Definitely hear the differences...everything gets better. With the treatment I found it make the largest difference as you mentioned. Never thought speaker cables would, then I thought to heck with it and purchased some "Worlds best Cables" from M'azon that had Japanese Mogami wiring with Eminence banana connectors and can instantly tell the quality difference in my system for less then 100 for 10ft cables. So much more smooth and heft in the sound, was instantly converted to "cables can make a difference" perspective. Keep on it! Well done; till later *thumbsup* *edited* spellings

nice, I've always disregarded cables but your post feels sincere and makes me stand up and take notice. Thanks. I wonder if you could put old speaker wire on and do some sort of blind test with friends to see if they notice or have them test you.
