Hooray! It's about time to be fun-infused and enthused to our best advantage. So let's altogether have a cosily-glorious and glossily-luxurious time by simply reminiscing and immortalizing the Golden Age of Hollywood that was supremely represented and so primly-scented with the immeasurable grandeur, the pleasurable allure, the memorable feature, the desirable texture, and perdurable stature - serving as every viewer's cup of tea in the most delightful way. Oh, Gigi! Thank heaven for having this one particular spectacular Mr Arthur Freed-produced musical comedic classic of high-end quality, inherent purity, apparent rarity, and consistent vitality that has it all including the well-deserved nine Oscar wins, the other prominent award-giving bodies' highly-raving recognitions; the well-pleased film pundits' so nicely-written "thumbs-up"-laden feedback. Such utterly defining and refining crowning points have saliently yielded to the utmostly splendorous and ever- vigorous delights of all the classic movie musicals enthusiasts. This 1958 MGM's most dollishly rollicking and frolicking piece with the well-established and undullished ooh-la-la and so-true-la-la entertainment value was being daintily and quaintly wrapped up in a plethora of sweetly-romanticized narrative that is parodically and thematically centered around the human foibles in the most subtle way such as the juicy yet cosy rumour-mongering and the saucy yet classy courtesanship formality-mentoring plus the sheer lure of the materialistic pleasure and of being financially-secured and Gigi's breathless and priceless transformation; the ostensibly-and-feasibly glamorized production values; the thrivingly-and-drivingly musicalised scenes; the more deftly and heftily accessorized 19th-century neatly and elegantly-designed Parisian costumes; the dandily-and-fancily conventionalized stage settings embellished with the period-piece interior decors in the most explicit way; the light two or four-wheeled folding top-equipped horse-drawn carriages, the open-air lever-steering, four-seater motor car, and the other back-then leading-edge items at the highest levels of sophistication and vivification that were fascinatingly and unrelentingly polished off with Sir Cecil Beaton's highly-energized seraphic graphic charm and the film creative / technical teams' primely-synergized perceptiveness, effectiveness, and attentiveness in full measures; with Mr Vincente Minnelli's truly epitomic directorial stints and methods that were implicitly set up with his gilt-edged cinematic propensity, his well-founded aesthetic sagacity, and his full-welded humanistic fibers such as tenacity, sensibility, and urbanity in order for this much-touted award-winning movie auteur to idyllically, eurhythmically, and majestically Hollywoodize the 1944 Mademoiselle Colette's piquant novelette with the magical rom-com touch of Mr Alan Jay Lerner's quite briskily and silkily human senses-envigorating spoken parts / well-outlined scenarios-written piece - "It's kinda dandyishly and lavishly "ooh-and-aah" -decked out fairy tale-can-come-true-themed motion picture that is lusciously shimmering with glitter, laughter, and caramel-coated romance." But of course, it's been with a great pride and honor to mention the other "plus-factors' of this decently-candied oldie goodie of first-rate class, namely, the lead stars' exceptionally character-driven and spirit-enlivened performances in particular Ms Leslie Caron, Ms Hermione Gingold, and Mr Maurice Chevalier; Mr Frederick Loewe / Mr Alan Jay Lerner's quite precisely full-flavored and well-favored song pieces that genuinely bring an ebullient and resilient pleasure in one's heart; Mr Joseph Guttenberg's simply cinemascopically and kaleidoscopically delineated scene-shots with his proper lighting effect, his picture-perfect framing, and his modest-yet-soundest camera grip; Ms Pauline Adam de la Bruyere's or Madame Paulette's flamboyantly-paraded collection of the stylishly-handmade Parisian ladies' millineries; Mr Charles Walters' most invitingly and excitingly-staged musical numbers. True enough, this 115-min fond memories-reliving and boredom-relieving moment is an exclusively-and-unelusively weekend viewing treat quite so blissfully rewarding and spell-binding that is hard to resist as being a short and sweet time traveling blast for the life-refilling and thrilling experience on which all the frazzled and less-dazzled escapists need to partake in. So folks, let us do an all-out well-rolled out shout out for this MGM's chicest and nicest jewel week in week out at consistent level. Thank heaven for being a part of this truly warm and enchanting classic that'll airily and shinily be in an eternal spring. Therefore, I'd rather be miserable with it than without it. For this is the best possible time when I can momentarily relax and enjoy watching this classic in the midst of the current global difficulties or the recurrent personal quandaries. Oh what miracle has made "Gigi" the way it is. And that is to be beautifully taken care of so as to last this quite exceedingly elated feeling of mine for a lifetime. It damn well is.

A different world, a different time. They don't write them like that anymore. Nostalgia is bittersweet.

Hard to be a "Trailer" if there's credits in the the first 2 seconds of the "Trailer". Welcome to commercialization!! Never liked this musical and Warner Bros holds hype to those 3. True to form animated characters, the Animaniacs for exposing the truth on reality, but thought a "promo" on one of their classics would hold true. Naw, all they care about is money.GJ corporatite losers!!!
