What's crazy about Gigi is she can also do those riffs and runs and hit those real high notes and she also has that rock voice if she wants to turn it on if you haven't heard it sir but she can also slowed down like this so soft and mellow beautifully. This is a one of a kind artist that were witnessing right now I believed.

Hi again Bob! I wrote first on Now and Then. I’ve seen Gigi’s name but neglected to listen until now with you. Girl can sang! ❤ Remember a smile takes less muscles than a frown so be joyful, it a joyous song! As for sounding like the original, when it’s done well, it kind of inspires me to go seek out the original and relish it too. Recently I’ve been inspired to relive and enjoy again; Olivia, Joni, Heart, The Beatles, Bread, Herb Alpert, Carly, Righteous Brothers, ABBA and Carpenters never stopped. So hearing respectful covers makes me go back and also enjoy the originals all over again. It really is Yesterday Once More, so to speak. So to me if a cover is in honor of the original and is done with quality, I’m all for it. So much music now is lazy and lackluster. They rely on autotune and pitch correction to make themselves sound “perfect.” But all they’re doing is destroying everything that is pure about great music. Joe

Yea, it was just a different time. I honestly didn't mind the Carpenters, but my heart at the time was R&R. I was too busy going to concerts (which is probably why I can't hear much of anything these days other than the ringing in my ears). LOVED Tull. I think my favorite was Hymn 43. Just loved that song.

Gigi's voice just put a smile on my face every time. First time hear The Carpenters in the 90's and became fan instantly. So glad to hear a voice so similar to Karen's today. I guess if you live long enough, things tend to repeat themselves.

If you (not Bob) want to hear 3 groups that sound almost exactly like the original artists, look up the REO Brothers (mostly the Beatles), Leonid & Friends (mostly Chicago) and Film Symphony Orchestra (movie themes)

She does sound beautiful but Karen has a deeper voice . But both are great.

I probably prefer Karen's lower end but I prefer Gigi's higher end. It's a draw. ;) Honestly, I love this version though.

Of course, there's only one Karen Carpenter, but Gigi is also amazing in her own way. Gigi's new cover of Sam Smith's UNHOLY proves that she can sing anything, she made this UNHOLY song her own vibe amazingly.
