Tbf characters like Griffith have not been given a very good anime adaptation (even if I love the 90s berserk series), and characters such as Thorfinn are still developing within their shows. Remember this is an Anime list rather than Anime and Manga.

Those that do not know who is Kenshin, imagine Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, but in 1800's Japan. Former child soldier/assassin makes vow of pacifism and wants to live in peace, but his past constantly drags him back to path of violence. I would highly recommend the series, but due the actions of the author...i can't

@@JeffDvrx Horimiya is wrapped up however, not all of the manga was adapted. So this new anime is basically all of the side stories that did not get adapted like the kyoto trip and the school festival. This is not a sequel it is just an extension of the original horimiya that adapts what the manga did not. It basically takes place between the start and end of horimiya.

@@akken_0 dawg, Gintama's populary is literally in the perfect place. For example, Big 3 and Dragon Ball's popularity is both a blessing and a curse. Can't have someone appreciate Big 3 and DB without others throwing negative opinions about them. Especially because they're mainstream. Gintama slightly gets the blessing without the curse. You can literally see lots of praises about Gintama but because it's not as famous as Big 3 and DB, it doesn't get the negative energy.

Rewatching just to see his reactions to one of the anime characters list of time again 😃

Couldn't agree more with Reigen and Legoshi, and how the fuck is MOB not even on that list? Rudeus Greyrat? Astroboy gets the nostalgia nod, but no Lum?!? I'm not an AoT fanboy and even *I* know that Eren should have been there. Also, Haru is just as compelling a character as her boyfriend.

@@gregoryfolsom7882 rudeus is too early imo, he is great, but it feele off to put him there when his character arc has just started. i think erwin is by far the best character in aot. so i would put hin there before even considering eren. i honestly wouldn't put neither lum nor atrso boy in the list, but thats just me. i also love haru, but i agree with gigguk on only putting one character from every series in the list.

Garnt is such a demon that demon slayer won't leave him alone.

Frankly I am surprised that he was surprised Johan, Spike, and Edward ended up high on the list in a list that started with Vash, Dio, Lulu, and Light, its like heading up the 2000s edgyfan's list of badasses lol (except Vash and Ed, they are cool). Luffy edging it out is indicative of One Piece's recent surge in the past few years, just like HunterxHunter and Jojo was relatively niche in the scene back in the day, but the past 7 years has been quite the pickup.

I love gigguk and I haven’t seen naruto in a long time either but honestly his reaction to Kakashi being their baffled me. Seems like this IGN list is based on what is popular in America, so obviously Dragonball and naruto is going to be there with some classics well known in America (cowboy bebop, Ghost in the shell, etc) and then they top it off with what is most popular (demon slayer, one piece, attack on titan).

There's no Okabe, Eren/Erwin, Askeladd/Thorfinn, Gilgamesh/Kirei/Kiritsugu, Ichigo/Aizen, Mob/Reigen, Hisoka, Gintoki/Kagura, Megumin/Kazuma, Koro-Sensei, Saiki Kusuo, Saitama, Gojou, Onizuka or THE gigachad Alucard???? Wtf is this list man??

Also Popular doesn't necessarily mean iconic, Monster isn't as popular as some animes in there but it's writing and antagonist are really iconic and influenced a lot of works, just like Berserk

I know people think luffy is just basically like Goku Yea a bit But there's alot more to his character that's just one part of it. I can see luffy on top in shonen genre

Come on. Luffy is just not the best Shonen Character. He's just not.

Demon slayer has the blandest characters in modern shonen. I can't believe someone would put any character on a list like that lmaoo

Uh oh...today I learned that remembering Love Hina makes you a boomer. This is horrible news for me

Some of the greatest character for me: Onizuka (GTO) : This guy shaped me up during my teen juvenile year to what I am today, so he is definitely up on top 3 for me Lelouch (Code Geass) : despite the messy pacing, he is very memorable because of his triple persona, the plot twist that affects him, his awesome dynamic with Suzaku and the best ending in anime. The first anime to make my cry and got me into mecha. Another top 3 for me. Rudeus (Mushoku Tensei) : The character that kind of making me think deep on some things like life redemptions and relationship (eg. Questionable casts, family themes, Grey areas). Also the series that drag me back into book reading world (LN especially) and started reading again after a long time (last I read was Harry Potter novel). At the very least, I will never forget these trio, maybe for the rest of my life.

Why is Naruto so hated as a top of all time? Easily top 3 of all time

I'll just say Vegeta inspired alot of the rival characters that we see in shonen shows. They aren't direct copies of vegeta but their are aspects of him in some of the rival characters.
