I played the original Gigantic until it died six years ago and loved it. I was really sad to see it go. But now it's back, and I'm having so much fun. Got some friends to try it for the first time too and once they figured out how the game worked, they loved it. While the connection issues and all that are inconvenient, I think a 6/10 as an objective rating is way too low. The gameplay feels so unique, and everyone can have fun regardless of their playstyle preferences. There aren't strictly defined roles, and every character can be customized to make every match feel fresh. Even if you lose badly, you can still have fun.

Playing with 4 new friends and once they actually understood the game they love it aside from connection issues, after understanding character builds. Rush is also very fun for low commitment. I don’t even mind it much when my team sucks in those matches. Hopefully they fix the 3-5 broken characters when ranked mode drops

I truly hope that Battleborn will be revived in a similar manner. I very much miss the solo & PvE of Battleborn!

I can't help but feel that the reviewer just expected something different than what Gigantic offered. The stamina complaints especially confused me, as well as the CC mentions. Stamina is there as an escape tool for almost every character, and to be able to punish overextends. this game expects you to work with your team, and a lot of roles operate differently than in similar titles (for example, assasins typically cannot 100-0 a ranged DPS or Support in a single rotation). Stamina works as a limiting factor or an escape. As far as CC, he doesn't seem to realize that every single character gets I frames from their dodging, and that most CC isn't "hard CC" (you can still move and attack with most CC's and the ones you can't are ultimates, like Voden and Xenobia's). The lack of hit response is definitely a feature that I would enjoy seeing improved - the ability to see ping would be nice as well. unfortunately, the 60FPS cap is an issue inherited from the game being on UE3, and UE3's networking limitations without a custom solution. (you can uncap it in the .ini files, but it will cause desync). I think at the end of the day, this game is the most fun I have had with a multiplayer game in a long time. the longer TTK actually allows for skill expression and close matches, and it seems like almost every character can provide a variety of roles and different playstyles (it seems that the reviewer didn't mention that you can make premade builds for the characters in rush). I have played OW, Paladins, LoL and R6 siege for years, and this game should have a place beside them. I think that this reviewer left out important information, and doesn't really understand the game (not that I blame him, its not exactly like the games that he is comparing it to). If you like hero battler games, and want one that emphasises teamwork, positioning, and allows for you to have a unique build/playstyle with a character, $20 is a low price. Even if it's not here for long, there is a lot of fun to be had (30 hours played so far from release for me). (Last mention: this game is Cross-Platform, the 6,000 players is only including Steam, not Xbox and PS)

Personally I feel like the stamina kinda needs to buffed with the amount you have a little bit (so like 50 or 70 more.) either that or just make it where jumping doesn’t consume stamina. Cause I can name a good amount of times where I just couldn’t escape even when I wasn’t over extending and a ability I have as a escape plan is on cooldown or just doesn’t exist if the hero doesn’t have that kind of a ability. I’m find with the idea of stamina consumption when in combat. Just feel like it needs to be reworked a little

overwatch somehow manages to have people revere it despite its terrible developments for the past few years. venture could be seen as inspired by rutger, d.vas rockets were added after ruckus received them in paladins, etc.

Wild to see the Steam charts go from 6000 peak players at launch to 100 peak in the past 24 hours on a Friday night in summer.

The pricing is absolutely not an issue for me and the game is more than worth it at a pretty low cost. However, releasing this as paid and not F2P is quite the interesting decision, especially considering it died before. I hope this ends up having the long, successful life it so deserves.

Generally speaking, when a game like this is released as a paid release, when comparable releases are f2p with mtx, it's an indicator that future support will be between sparse and non-existent. It's a "get it out the door so we can move back to other projects" release. Not that it's a bad thing, if it's a good game then it's a good game, but you just have to be aware that the content currently there will be the content that's there in five years too.

This is one of those games that creates incredibly mixed reactions. On the one hand, the characters and abilities are pretty cool. You can see a lot of potential in the game's design. On the other hand, it's very, very unpolished and raw. And given its age and that this is just a relaunch, I doubt it will ever get any real polish. It also seems most of the glitches they had in the testing event recently did NOT get fixed in the launch(at least according to reviews, I haven't played since it went live).

I really hope this game can get a second chance. I didn't play it before but i do like it so far

Tbh as of this moment I would not buy it from server issues on console don’t know how it is on pc but I can only play like 3 games max then the game gets stuck loading and I can’t even close the game or turn off my ps5 without potentially damaging my console I would def wait to get this if you’re looking to get it

I haven’t had much problems, what I can’t tell you is if someone leaves a queue, and then you get put in another queue automatically, you should leave it and restart the search. You will look for a game infinitely

trust me, try this game, it's on sale right now, it doesnt cost much, and it's really fun remember that the game appeals to everyone, and with the builds system YOU design your character. Though do remember that stamina is reduced by tons of actions, spam jumping will always get you killed.

This may have Moba elements but the gameplay its Hero shooter definitely, just watch that mobility speed and fluidity, its like playing an action game with strategic elements, best pvp ever imo

its a limitation for netcode from UE 3, its likely not going to change unless they decide to entirely remake the game from the ground up (you can't directly port between UE 3 and 4 or 5)

In the hour and a half time of gameplay I put into it it had so many ridiculous problems like the matchmaking not working and erroring occurring that forced me to fully restart the game and match results failing and giving you no progress it was really ridiculous. On top of all that I just have no faith this game will last long at all anyway the populations so low

I like it a lot, however, I just reached 2.9 hours on steam and I don’t think I should put any more time in and just refund it. This is mainly due to the 30 second countdown, a player has dropped out, another 30 second countdown. And this process repeats for a good 6 to 7 minutes until I get into a game. Just not feasible for my time.

Bring back BATTLEBORN!!!!!!!!

Rush definitely has people bursting way more, Clash tends to be slower paced and often has more thought put into it. Watching gameplay I see you wasting stamina as well so it seems like you don't really utilize it. I feel like you're somewhat understanding the mechanics but not quite getting it. Matchmaking is broken the I hope they fix the menus

that opening clip is some of the worst gameplay i have ever seen. really not sure i can trust someone that terrible to say the gameplay is bad

This game is DOA unfortunately, multiple server issues, can break consoles and force users to un plug just to close it, countless bugs, vulnerabilities, bugs with matchmaking making most users not able to even find matches, it was a disaster, player base already struggling to reach 4k, and since most console players are avoiding it you can count on only those 4k players at peak to keep the game alive, 1.5k on low hours, not to even mention, the game when it works, is completely unbalanced, and with the small reception new players are being matched with vets, champs are unbalanced, devs don't know the game so no updates in the future (diff company releasing) sad story

The stamina system is awful. Once you use it up, you're out until you exit combat and let it recharge. Feels so slow and boring.
