Great review, I'm looking at getting either this 32 inch gigabyte monitor or the 27 inch model for mainly gaming (not competitive). One of the main reasons is the picture quality and especially the contrast with this 32 inch model. However I've seen other reviews where the contrast is much lower and so I don't know if the bigger screen alone is worth it. Also just curious as to where you got this monitor from, and would you recommend buying this monitor directly from gigabyte, or through another retail source, like Amazon or Canada computers etc. Thanks again for all the great reviews you guys make.

I bought it one of the first in Russia. He returned to the store a week later - I could not get used to the terrible black plumes against a dark background. Even pages on sites with a black background cannot be scrolled without annoyance. The black equalizer does not work correctly - it makes the whole field light or dark, regardless of the hue. But what a magnificent picture he has! She stayed in my heart ...))) I still regret it! )))

  • @SnowmobileHomeMovies

I bought this immediately (knowing nothing about it) when Newegg emailed me that it was available. Really wanted a 32" gaming monitor and indeed the size is great, I can't go back to 27" now. I like it for the price, but the darks smear like crazy. Having grown up on CRT monitors, maybe my expectations are just unrealistic for response time, but this thing feels very slow. Glad to hear the picture quality is good - I felt that the blacks were not nearly black enough on initial setup, but I got it looking OK after messing around. After that very happy with the picture quality, but the smearing is pretty bad all the time (at all levels but especially the darks) and the overdrive artifacts are really bad - going above balanced mode is not usable. Thanks for reviewing this. You scored it a little bit higher than i would have before watching, but you have informed me that the picture quality is good for the price range, and that's good to know. I don't know how to analyze picture quality like you do, I can just see that it's obviously slow and that is annoying but I'm going to live with it for now.

Yup I had a old but high end VA (eizo foris fg2421) and the black smearing put me off VA. Good modern IPS panels with low IPS glow and fast response times are just the best middle ground right now.

@@kjaesp but no 32 inch options, you can look at other brands. I've tried several at this point. This now discontinued viewsonic 144hz 1440p monitor seems to have an amazing balance of overdrive vs black smearing etc. Hated the msi, hated the acer, hated the 2nd msi. Love this one. The msi would likely have performance like the monitor he mentioned. The acer was worse then the msi. This viewsonic is awesome. That new samsung g7 has got my eye for a highend offering. For years and years and years I’ve been using a cheap 32” 1080p TV screen. 60hz. Just a standard TV screen. For reference, most of my gaming is MSFS and DCS. I use VR in flight sims primarily, and swore I’d never go back to a flat screen again. Well, VR was having some issues in MSFS so I’ve been using that flat screen just to play it. And I was happy. I thought it looked amazing. And then I thought “hey, I should get a solid gaming monitor”. Oh boy. I don’t think I can go back to VR (for flight sims…not until VR quality improves a lot). DCS and MSFS are both new sims with this monitor. I am floored by the quality of the image, the colors, and smoothness… it took me a minute to figure out how to configure the monitor (still working on that, actually), but I am 100% happy with this purchase. It’s like all my games are new again, seeing them in a new light. I imagine my experience is fairly unique going from a cheap TV to a high-spec gaming monitor, but I can’t imagine anyone being unhappy with this monitor.

Is the one that place me in whatever world I sees. This monitor is just wider though. problem be the color; the color is bad. Although it's expected. Am glad I go and test it 1st, sure wasted my time for it. -_- 1st it's curve, the curve have already distorded the image a bit which is strickly stupid to me. The only situation curve is ever positive are games where feelings in the images is insignificant or user doesn't care about the feelings in the images. 2nd; the color, the color displayed felt artificial. Feelings of images is insufficient. Is expected for a VA panel, but that is strickly mood destroying. Might be fine if you only solely play FPS games, but if you play other kind of games where there are more feelings in the images than one can find in an FPS games; this monitor is definitely not ok. 3rd, for productivity; the monitor cannot be tilt horizontal. I had thought to use this monitor as my 2nd monitor instead of my main, but it seems that it's negative functionality is way too under for 2020. I could get better monitor with the slidely cheaper price and yet still get greater function. I pretty much expected this. As it's Gigabyte. They only follow the trend, but never make up ideas on their own. I do want a 2nd monitor, but I guess I'll wait a bit before getting 2 ips with higher resolution. I recently picked up this monitor for under $250 at Newegg. Yean, I know but it was the cheapest price on it. It was also the cheapest 32" with these kind of specs and I need a larger screen size due to my poor vision. It was actually priced in the same range that you'd usually find the cheaper 27" 1440P offerings. At that price, I couldn't say no. It was $100 cheaper than the LG options Tim talked about in the video! So far it has worked very well and I have no complaints, except for Gigabytes software for the monitor. I can not get their OSD Sidekick to run on my PC. That doesn't affect the monitor itself and you can control it very easily with the joystick on the back. I would have liked to have been able to do it with my kb/mouse but it's not a big deal.

I have this monitor, all things considered I do love it and the picture is phenomenal after calibration. Do be aware that if you're looking to use G-Sync, it suffers from flickering at low frame rates and I recommend a different monitor for that purpose. I run it at 165hz and my setup pushes out good frame rates so I don't notice any screen tearing even without it enabled. I hope it gets a firmware update to fix the G-Sync issue but it's not likely.

@@der09er41 Heck yeah, I think you're going to love it! I play some fairly fast games occasionally - Rocket league, Forza, and a couple racing drone sims. Zero input lag issues, and the dark smearing handling is very good, especially for this type of panel. The thing that I like the most is just the overall color reproduction and vibrancy, and the brightness. The picture just looks so darn good at this price point. The only adjustment I've made to my system is disabling PCI-E power throttling in the Power management settings in Windows. I do this for all monitors though, it keeps the screen from occasionally going out of sync. It didn't happen often, and after changing the setting it's never happened since. It's an outstanding monitor. Let me know what you think of it after you get it if you manage to find this comment later, ha ha. That happens to me all the time, lol.

found this monitor on an amazing cybermonday sale ($320 so in the range i might go with an ASUS TUFF 27inch 144hz instead if i find the reviews push its overall quality better) and even if its got some benefit, your analysis with the responses was absolutely what i needed to know. im upgrading from a 24in 60hz 1080p simple acer monitor and with this one being a lot of potential offered at the same price point of another intro "144hz 1440p" space monitors im gonna give it a try. not that i wont keep doing my research to make sure all of they're claims are more fact than fiction, but just a general idea that even if i go down to like 144hz balanced or 165hz speed ill still see a massive difference. esp since my gpu/cpu can push it out. cant wait to see if the upgrade really makes me want to play more games that can capitalize on the 144hz+ space, and perhaps itll make me want my next upgrade to be something of a premium value once i know what im missing. thanks ya hahahaha #2020

Been playing Sonic colors remastered on my series S with this monitor that I purchased based on this video! Sonic Colors happens to be the perfect game to test frame rate, brights, and darks Games tested so far : UFC 3 Sonic Colors Master Chief Collection Rocket League Splitgate Microsoft Flight Simulator Recompile Psychonauts 2 Gears 5 Pros • Clouding isn’t nearly as bad or as noticeable as most reviews claim • Response time is nice • color/contrast lives up to the hype • Size - at 32 inches I was concerned it would be too big, but I sit 5 feet away from it, so it’s the perfect size for my set up Cons • Ghosting is as bad as they say it is. There isn’t a lot of ways around it besides reducing it as much as possible without washing out the image. Not a deal breaker for me as i tuned it to where it’s only noticeable in small areas with different maps. It isn’t impossible to work around, so that’s a plus • Curved - this feature seems kinda pointless as I don’t even notice that it’s curved while I’m using it. Still don’t know the benefit of curved but at least it looks nice on the outside • the stand is very wobbly. Not an issue for me since I don’t sit in front of it Overall, I’m still testing this monitor on a daily basis and the more tuning I do, the more impressed I am when I compare it to my series x running on a QLED LG tv I almost prefer to play certain games on my series s/gigabyte 32qc, which is crazy. Colors, response time, sharpness, blacks, these all pass in my book and I genuinely look forward to booting it up for hours of gaming.

I have a M34WQ (ultra-wide) and I bought it as per recommendation from this channel. In the end, I wish it was slightly curved. I work more than I game but I also game quite a bit. It's too large to be flat. I would definitely not recommend an ultrawide or big screen with a flat panel. I am close to my screen. I have no issue with the performance but you'll have to live with the bad ergonomics of a an ultra-wide flat panel and it might put some strain on your neck over time. I think I will go back to a 16:9 panel. I would get a 32 inches but with a slight curve.

I bought this monitor and I am blown away. I came from a dell s2417dg which is a great tn monitor but WOW this g32qc has amazing contrast and great brightness, REALLY good colors and surprisingly good motion. Playing Rainbow Six Siege I thought I would find myself having a harder time with slower pixel response time instead I find myself spotting enemies much quicker due to the better contrast and not having issues with motion or black smearing at all. Love this monitor, I can also watch movies on this without being disgusted like on my old TN. I have an oled TV and honestly this is the closest I've ever seen on a non backlight zone switching LCD to the oled levels of contrast. Only problem I've noticed is in pure black scenes where you will notice the black uniformity issues in all corners. There are very few times when this has happened though and in 99% of scenes you won't see backlight issues.
