I also purchased the EPIPHONE WORN Cherry SG Classic. The tone and playability and visual effects and appeal is top notch . It also has made me want to get another SG as well.

All I play are Gibson and Epiphone guitars. My Gibson SG (Duncan Distortions) and my Epiphone Prophecy Extura (Jim Root EMGs) are my absolute favorites. Change those 57s for something hotter for sound, and if you were gonna keep it, sand the neck.

I played one of those when they came out, and yea, they weren't nearly as impressive to play as to look at. Whenever I find a Gibson I like, it's one of the best guitars I've played, but most Gibsons I try are just alright and almost never match the price tag anymore. For what its worth, Fender doesn't impress me that often either. Epiphone is much more consistent for me. If its a model I like, and the neck shape even remotely matches what I'd expect, it's usually great. My favorite recently was actually one of those P-90 SGs, even in green like yours. Only got to try it once though before I went overseas for a while. I also like the current Les Paul Juniors.

It really is a great little guitar. Also the stock P90’s break up well without getting nasty. Epi really stepped up their game.

@@Thenon-mediocreguitarist interesting- my experience with Epiphone is quite limited, but this sounds promising. Enjoying the channel mate.

I think that’s where I am now. I fell in love with the new Epi Crestwood custom…

It seems like gibsons are just collectors items now and epiphones are the players guitars

I played an Epiphone Crestwood custom today. Less than $500. I’ll be buying one. Fantastic guitar

Yeah, those of us who play Gibsons are just collectors and not players…. The real players play Epiphones. Got it.

@@jcwoodstl I don’t think that is what he was saying. I believe He was referring to the guitar not the players.

Got to be honest, as a Gibson guy, those hps aren't for me either. Love my standard though

The neck keeps pulling down and gets uncomfortable. With the damage in my shoulder, wrist and hand from my accident I can’t play it for longer than 5 minutes without pain in my shoulder and the constant pulling up on the neck while trying to play is a pita… I may go to Chuck Levin next week and play the standard again.. but for the price I’m not sure it’s worth almost $1.5k more than the Epi. I’ve heard many…. many times Gibson owners saying it may take several Gibsons to find one that “has it”… not sure if that’s true but I even hear pro musicians saying it… so buying used sounds like it could be another pain in the butt… I’ll be honest, my Ibanez JS2410 is quite literally the easiest playing guitar I’ve ever owned. The pickups, the feel, the balance, the neck profile..it fits like it was made for me…Joe and I are built v similar, I realized that when I met him. And he’s my first guitar hero… so I’m thinking I’ve found “my guitar”… really don’t need a Gibson just to own one… though it would be cool to inadvertently find one that I could connect with. Thank you for the comment and watching my video. I truly enjoy making them. The most fun I’ve had in a long time.

@@Thenon-mediocreguitarist if the epi is the one, stick with that, absolutely nothing wrong with them at all, they are great guitars. I love the look of that green classic, and it sounds great too, I've also got my eye on the Pelham blue special, one of those two definately next on the list!

Half of the price of Gibson guitars is for the name just like Harley's when you buy a motorcycle, you get what you pay for....
