The record says they are definitely a contender but as a cautiously optimistic Guards fan there is issues in series playoff ball. First off near the bottom in starters Innings is a red flag. No starter besides Tanner has pitched well enough to earn a playoff start in October. Bullpen fatigue worries me. I mean some possible opponents Astors would throw Blanco Verlander Valdez Javier Orioles Burnes Rodriguez Suarez Kremer and those 2 teams may add a quality starter at deadline. Those are just a couple examples. Cleveland needs a decent arm who could throw a playoff game example Jack Flaherty or Garrett Crochet etc. I have hope for Gavin but he is still a wildcard coming off injury too early to tell

Those city connect jerseys are just clean. Maybe the beast ones in the MLB

Angel Martinez is the real deal. He has the eye of an 8 year veteran. Every Ab I’ve seen him take he makes the pitcher work

The Naylor brothers drove in 4 of the 5 runs! Bo has been really swinging the bat well lately. Already an excellent defender, I expect him to keep on improving at the plate and become at least a solid .250 hitter. He needs to cut down on his K's as has fanned 70 times this year as opposed to 17 walks in 195 AB's

@@jerrygoldfarb7739 yes if we keep him behind the plate ever since hargrove left we get good catchers and we move them to first base to protect them Victor Martinez Carlos Santana if I remember right can't Sandy alomar caught all his career hargrove never moved him to first base

Yeah at this point in his career Rochioo needs to be Borderline Gimenez like with the glove to justify at bats down the stretch not that Arias is great 2 bad choices. The alternative would be a low cost veteran like Paul Dejong in a trade bring a little pop to the order. His average sucks but it's an upgrade hitting wise for sure over Arias or Rochioo

Catcher is allowed to "block" the plate after he has caught the ball. Doesn't make much sense to me but that's the ruling. Had he placed his foot there prior to having the ball in his glove it would have been interference. Really unfortunate because Naylor may have made it in safely otherwise, it was certainly close.

Not really Bibee and Lively are pitching like aces lately. Get Williams back up to what he was you got a solid 3 right there with that monster bully and this offense that's all you need.

26th in the majors in "innings pitched." That's a manager strategy more than anything else. Allen got pulled at 91 pitches with a shutout going (at the time, some runs of his did score once he was pulled). I think it's a good tactic, less injury prone and our bullpen has the best ERA in the league by a wide margin.

26th in the majors, regarding innings pitched??? No wonder, the Guards have a serious starting rotation weakness. Sigh. 🙁 Not sure how much longer, the Guards FO duo of Antonetti and Chernoff will keep 37 y.o. Cookie Carrasco in the starting lineup. I guess, Antonetti and Chernoff will wait to acquire a veteran SP on the trade deadline of July 31st. That 9th inning for Cleveland, was in no way easy for us Guardians fans; usual, reliable Closer Emmanuel Clase gives up a run in a tight game and a error by 3B Angel Martinez. A win is a win and especially, a series win.

Naylor made it home had that catcher not step on his arm while he was sliding that should have been catchers interference smh

The Guardians need to trade for a starting pitcher at the deadline. I knew the starters were a bit of a weak spot, but being 26th in the league for innings pitched is not going to cut it in the playoffs.

Yall want everything to be perfect bibee and lively are pitching like aces get williams back.up.to speed with our bully were fine. Can't have everything no team in the mlb does. Everything else the gaurdians do is above avg when it comes to winning games. Carrasco last 3 outings have been decent so it's getting better. Mckenzie and Logan Allen have been that bad that's what's blowing up the bad numbers. Allen had the 2nd highest era amongst starters and Mckenzie has Given up 19 HRs most in the majors. The starting pitching ain't as bad as we think.
