Any team in this era building around a RB is doomed. It’s a QB driven league no ifs ands or buts. Dont even need a premier WR either. Look at Love and GB last year. Top QB and a top OLine drives winning.

Since Daniel Jones was drafted (2019), here's how they prioritized OL: - drafted Andrew Thomas fourth, Matt Peart 99th and Shane Lemieux 150th - drafted Evan Neal seventh and Josh Ezeudu 67th - drafted Jon Michael Schmitz 57th Of those names mentioned, one is a stud, the rest are huge question marks. They prioritized the offensive line, just simply whiffed.

He’s paid for 2 years … can’t get out after this. He also has identical stats to Trevor Lawrence through 50 games. Trevor Lawrence is making 55 million a year not to mention Joe Shane was just making a point that it would be tough for anyone to succeed behind an offensive line that’s not very goodcould be a quarterback and our case also running back. Saquon was hurt a lot and struggled to perform behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. He’s a good dude and I hope he has success against us not against us.

Saquon is so overrated. Many RBs in the league have done SO MUCH more and dont have a contract for some reason. Dalvin cook for example. Better career stats than saquon, but isn’t on a team. Only reason Barkley is in the NFL is because he was the 2nd pick. You don’t build a team around a RB

3.9 yards a carry… Bro Andrew Thomas, Dex, Okereke, McKinney(former Giant) all better than Saquon at this point in his career. And 2022 DJ was far better than Saquon did Saquon have 22 total TDs and 4,000 total yards? I loved having Saquon on the team, but reality is he had 1 great season for us (rookie season), 2 really good ones, 1 bad one, and missed a whole season from injury. He’s not the same back he was elite, now he’s a slightly above average back.

saquan was the reason the offense opened up in the first place because the defense had to play up front with him in the backfield. Giants chose danny pennies over a top 5 rb. They didnt build the oline, over 6 years they had with him. They clutched on to danny because he was affiliated with eli's camp

Tyrod won 2 games all season - Danny Dimes won 10 and beat a 13 win playoff team in a playoff game the year before when the roster was even worse. Devito barely beat a couple scrub teams when the defense was averaging 5 takeaways a game.

Saquon was NEVER the issue. NYG drafted Jones as the 6th overall pick and paid him 40 mil for nothing. NYG had OBJ, Collins & Saquon at one point and lost them all.

The media never provides real context in these debates. At the time DJ was given that contract there were no other QB options that were viable for the Giants and he had just won a playoff game. Its clear that the Giants wanted to keep them both and the decision to extend DJ made more sense in the long run. If the Giants would have franchised DJ and signed S.B, that would have been more of a cap hit which would have not allowed them to BUILD THE TEAM in 2023.Then if you factor in the cap increase coming, D.J's contract is going to look even better.Yes, S.B was the best player on the team but this team averaged 5 -6 wins since he had been with the NYGs. Look at these other teams with like 3-4 offensive pro bowler players. Those teams arent only winning solely because of their respective QBs. Pat Mahommes isnt great simply because of his talent. He also has had consistentcy throughout his career. S.B was our only talent and to pay him for the same production that you can get out of a younger player would've been foolish.

Because on average their careers are shorter and their primes tend to be early and short as well. They take a ton of hits. But Saquan has been good. That’s why Roseman paid him. He called Saquan a weapon because he will touch the ball 300 times this year. I get the devaluing of the RB but certain ones are more than just running. Back: and Saquan is a runner, receiver and a blocker

Based on an interview I watched last week with the director of hard knocks the team gets to watch the video before it’s released and if there’s something the team doesn’t want in there then it’s removed. Giants shouldn’t be concerned with anything coming out because they approved it lol

I'm not so sure about Joe Schoen being a good GM. Schoen will be heading into a 3rd year and the Giants are going backwards not forwards. Granted Jones got hurt, but a few team lost starting QB and did not collapse.

I read the Giants had final editing say, so I guess they're ok with whatever is in it.

I'm sure Aiyuk is loved in that locker room, and him not getting a good deal is a bad sign for veterans there, if it is a long term thing it could potentially cause riffs in the locker room, could be a lowkey sign of the ending of Shanahan era in San Fran (all speculation of course)

It’s cookie cutter to say “QBs are more valuable regardless of circumstances” and then pick Daniel jones over Saquon. That’s how you stay in relative obscurity as a franchise, ala the NYG. I know what you mean, but Saquon won them more games than DJ with his ability. Circumstances always matter, this isn’t Madden and you’re not just playing the games on paper. In reality, Saquon is an elite talent and DJ needs to improve a lot to return any sort of value.

I want him to build the team that can thrive with/without Daniel Jones but they aren't there yet. And, that's what the Jones critics can't seem to grasp - the team isn't in the playoffs with average, above average QB play. They lack the foundation to win but seem to be putting the right pieces together.

They know jones isn’t the guy. The thing is, they might have to survive another Daniel jones disaster to find their QB in a way worse 2025 QB Class.

Imagine the Giants kept Barkley and Odell ? And found them a decent QB. This front office is terrible

EVERYBODY are saying it's the Player's that are terrible. NOBODY is addressing the Coaching Staff! Coaching MATTERS, doesn't matter if it's little league or Professional, Coaching matters! It's not ALL on the Player's, those coaches should get some of the blame as well. That goes for EVERYONE, not just in Sports, in Life in general!

The OLine sucked. No offense runs behind an Oline that porous. Passing or running will suffer. Barkley was there for 6 years, that's a career for most HBs.

Or utilize your 12 million dollar back to compliment your 40 million dollar QB. I'm not against them not wanting to pay him entirely, but I think they handled this the worst possible way. He knew what he was doing saying this on hard knocks 🙄. I'm a fan of DJ too but the injuries and turnovers are still a concern here.
