Tim Lincecum was at his best as the Giants opened their postseason in 2010

It boggles my mind that Buster is a 10yr vet already. Seems like yesterday he was a fresh-faced Catcher of the future. Same goes for Heyward, dude's been in the game for a decade already. And Derek Lowe is a name I haven't heard in a minute.

It's hard to fathom that it's been 12 years now. I forgot about Jason Heyward, Derek Lowe, the first basemen D Lee. It was so sweet to finally win the first one this year. After watching us choke against the Angels in 02 this world series and the two that followed well made up for it. Hell I honestly thought we were going to do it again in 16 and we almost did. If it wasn't for Casilla blowing the late inning lead against the Cubs I was certain the Giants had their 4th tittle in 8 years. That was heartbreaking. Last year too losing to LA. Now the team is .500.

Thats what made this one so magical to me. Forget the 54 years of no championships and some close calls but this was the Misfit year. The most unlikely came together to win it all. Meanwhile Boston LA Houston and others have spent money hand over fist to build superteams.

NHLman27 This was definitely a magical year and the start of an amazing 5 year stretch. Can you imagine if the Giants didn’t have crucial injuries in 2011 and 2013? Instead of “3 in 5” it could have easily been “5 in 5”.

Funny to think that the Lincecum's incredible 2010 postseason run started with him giving up a lead off double to Omar Infante. *fun fact: Omar Infante has been on the losing side of all the Giants three world series championships during their run.

How perfect is it that Infante was the first batter the Giants faced and they went on to eliminate his team in 10, 12, and 14. Poor Omar

Timmy is maybe my favorite Giant of all time. Also, it's a minor point, but the way the announcer calls Infante "Infan-Tee" is hella annoying to me. Glad he corrected himself in the latter innings

Of course, all the Giants played a key role in that 2010 run. That being said, they wouldn't have won it all without Andres Torres. He came in second or third in doubles in the NL that year, I can't remember. A pretty good feat in any case. Thing is, he didn't get called up until late May or early June of 2010. Missed two months.

@@Brivalia I'm talking about the video, look at the way he calmly walks to his catcher & shakes his hand after a brilliant performance. That's what I'm talking about, not his behavior outside of the game or on days when he is not pitching. I was just saying it would be nice if they acted more professional, instead of like teenage yahoos, as if they were doing something that had never done before every time they throw a strike.
