Yes sir! I like the crappie a little more than the shellcracker. I usually try to catch them in the winter on brush piles!

I’ve fished for shell cracker on Lake Marion. It was in a big cypress bay across from Pack’s Landing. It was a long time ago though. My friend and I caught SO many big ones, for two days! There must have been 15 other boats there too. EVERYONE was catching them. I got shellcracker elbow by the end of the second day and had to start holding my beer with my left hand. Nice video. Where you’re fishing looks like it could be where I was.

Nicely done on this video sir, It is nice to see you two out fishing. My girls have grown and left home and I miss the time we used to get in the field and lake etc. I am proud you guys have these videos to look back on later in life. Thanks, Dale, for all of the kind comments. I try to take my daughter and niece every chance I get! They love to hunt and fish, so I'm going to try to keep them on the water and in the woods while I can until they leave for college. I hope you have a good fishing season!

Well sometimes for me it's just luck! I fish for them the same way I fish for bass. Just trolling in the trees and around grass until I find them. Good luck and I hope you get on them!

Good luck! It's been hit or miss from what I've been hearing. I caught a few yesterday but didn't find any beds.

They are my favorite to catch and eat

I know there are good shell cracker fisheries in the Southeast, but I am not familiar with any areas in the Midwest. I have only hunted out West, but I hope to travel to fish some areas out West. Thanks for watching!!

This time of year, the shellcracker move up into the shallow water to spawn. I usually catch them in around 3 and 1/2 ft of water or shallower. Around trees and grass.

Yes sir! The upper end of Lake Marion has a lot of stumps.

Those would've been good with huspuppies and ranch dressing

Does shell crakkers are hug.In the south will call then shell crakkers but the real name for them is red ear sunfish.I need to fo down south to the deep south and go into the swap and caught them.

Not exactly, I put in at Packs landing. I've never really tries the shellcracker in Sparkleberry but you can catch them in the swamp.

Thank you for watching. I Honesty don't know what brand of corks these were. I bought them out of a bait store where they had them for sale in bulk. They were 2 inch, with a peg for a stopper. They look like maybe the Comal tackle brand. I hope this helps!

Good morning ! Today is February 10, 2023. I need your help please. I have a H H Rod Storm surge 6 foot 1-pc medium light spinning rod and a Kast king sharky 3 model # 1000 spinning reel. Which name and size fishing line you would recommend me to buy and used on the setup that I have to catch them big bluegills that you and your daughter are catching on this KZread video and what live bait you and your daughter are using in this KZread video and what name and size hook y’all used also. Hey Timothy, sorry, I just saw this. My notifications don't always work on KZread. I don't use anything too expensive. I just get a 4lb or 6lb line with a number 2 hook. I use red worms for the shellcracker, and I usually use crickets if I target bream.
