@@cr8t3r86 easy fix for that: a Sidney fan-boy feels miffed and becomes a copycat killer in an attempt to use the Ghostface image to force himself to be relevant in her life. Still wouldn't be a perfect match but close as possible canonically

@@cr8t3r86 actually they could retcon that stu survived. All that happened to him was get stabbed and have a tv fell on him. Hell even the actor himself says that. Billy got shot in the head...so he is staying dead, but stu could be brought back pretty easy.
