His voice is a bit cleaner than the original, but yeah tonally it is pretty spot on. Someone that wasn't super familiar with AIC and may have heard the original years ago probably couldn't tell the difference though. Super great job by all involved!!!

This was 2 years ago when replicating voices using AI wasn't really that popular so it's just the vocalist's actual voice, most likely some form of auto-tune or editing if it's not his actual voice. I gotta say Layne Staley is indeed one of the best vocalist there ever was in the Grunge scene and perhaps in rock history, but it isn't very hard to reach his level after a couple years of vocal training to hit the right notes, but trying to replicate his tone would require a lot of effort since Layne mostly sang from his heart and put a lot of passion and emotion into his voice. @arteyeszb6343

@@rab46290 Bagels are so good, I think my fav one ever was this awesome one in manhattan that had eggs and cheese and some amazing secret sauce on it. Wish i remembered the name of the place, but it was so early and i was zonked, so i just saw "bagels" on the window and my fate was decided.

Holy moly, clicked on this expecting some fun, decently recorded, decently performed Merkins goodness. But...this could pass for a genuine Layne tribute. Colour me impressed - wow!

this is actually genius, because pinhead does come out of a box. The singing sounds just like the real thing, and the lead singer of the merkins has a great vocal range, the guitar playing is on point, and the drumming is just a hard hitting as the original. Great job to these guys

If you guys weren't dressed like a parody, you would have passed off easily as grunge band. This was seriously an amazing cover. You should proceed with this style.

its barely parody at all. I mean, a lot of rock and metal gets inspiration from shock rock. These masks arent too different from the ones slipknot wears. If someone didnt know that grunge rock (alice in chains genre) was rooted in a gritty reality (they dont really dress up) and had never seen hellraiser before this would have easily passed as a normal (very good) music video.

I wish that Layne would have seen that, he would probably loved it.

The Grunge sound originates from that Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin 70’s Blusey Hard Rock sound. And STP were never Glam Rock at all, Glam Rock is David Bowie and Queen, and Glam Metal is Motley Crue and Dokken. It was Mother love Bone who were actually Glam Rock

Candelbox was another band labelled Grunge when they were hard rock. n Yes Nirvana was metal in the first album but then changed in the 2nd album to sell albums. ALways happen ever era. case in point people labelled The Black Crowes n esp Jackal as hair bands when the were not. Just like a lot of hair bands were dubbed metal when a lot were hard rock. same deal. But AIC was metal N Stone temple were Glam rock(Scott Weiland was glam as fuck!). EVEN Guns N Roses was a hair band when they first came out.

But Jerry also doesn't want him to live in Layne's shadow, which is why DuVall puts his own flavor in on the albums. So he pays respect to Layne live on Layne's songs and then still gets to be himself on the newer stuff.

Plus Duvall is a dear friend of Jerry's and actually way more reliable as a bandmate and friend than even Layne was (Jerry was infinitely patient with Layne and his heroin struggles and lost a lot of money from touring due to Layne being unable to tour due to drug problems). I love how Jerry and Will were able to keep AiC alive because i think Black Gives Way to Blue was a masterpiece and I see it as a classic AiC album. Dinosaurs and Rainer Fog are also very good and Duvall is excellent as AiC lead singer but also in his solo work.

When I heard the original song for this, I thought it was alright. Now hearing this version, and with it not only being a parody of the original, but also a version based around Hellraiser... I'm in love with it (I've had this on repeat for the past week since finding it)! Absolutely one hell of a banger you guys have got, here's to more amazing horror-themed parodies and content to come!

The talent in these videos is astonishing. I'm an old guy and know all their video references for the most part as a horror fan so its great I found these guys 5 days ago.

AIC was and still is one of my favorite bands ever and this was done so incredibly well!!!! You guys are insanely talented and I would pay to see you in concert!!!

If I just heard this on the radio I would have assumed it was the original its pretty spot on perfect.

A.I.C. is one of my favorite bands... Layne would be proud... This is genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
