Fun fact: when my mom, who was really into ghostbusters, was about six years old she had a teacher who lived in New York about this time, and one day she went up to her teacher and asked: “what was it like watching the Statue of Liberty walk across the city?” Still one of my most favorite mom stories ever

I've loved this movie since 1989 the year it came out. I saw it in the theater with my parents when I was ten. Great movie then and now which doesn't deserve the flack it gets. Ghostbuster 2016 and Afterlife deserves the flack though. I don't even count them as Ghostbusters movies.

I think a lot of people wrote off the sequel at the time of its release and said it was nowhere near as good as the original. Today, however, I think many (including myself) now think this one is not only better than what we thought but vastly superior to the original. Just a better film.

I guess she was. Ray was only aiding her walking, because nothing else makes sense. Why would he control her other functions, they only needed to walk to the museum. 2:57 - something satisfying about liberty stepping on the police when the police keep stepping on our liberties.
This movie is so criminally underrated.
What I love about this moment, is that the slime summons the spirits and emotions of supposed spirits long dead. New Yorkers from when the Statue was first built even. Immigrants, builders, tourists from allover who came and lived in NYC. And now they have a chance to defend it. And "in the body of a Statue" see descendants cheering and praising this statue to save them. And, with the power of possibly a 1000 spirits, overpower the force Vigo with one powerful swing.
Anybody else notice Cheech at 1:14 lol
