Very cool! A ghost trap drone. Going to be cool to see how it works in the film.

4:55 Saw the movie and the Ecto-1 still has the RTV ghost trap. This toy should've included that as well.

You should do another room tour after all of the Frozen Empire merch and Kenner rereleased toys have been obtained. There are more and more GB fans every day. I'm sure they'd love to see. I appreciate all of the info over the years.

Love the review. Also if you didn’t get the first Ecto-1 you can put a proton pack in the place where the rv trap is supposed to go

I just bought this so cool only wish they'd included flashing lights and siren sound but overall a cool replica to display.

When I saw the Slimer-toy, I thought it was a finger-puppet! XD

I love my Ecto-1! The only complaint I have is how frustrating it was to get the white wall stickers on the tires. I wish they had just been painted on. Can't wait to track down that Interactive Slimer!!

The lack of paint on the headlights, heck, everywhere, feels... too cheap.

Was hoping they could make the gunner scene spring loaded this time.

my 2-year-old loves the Afterlife version of this car, though he's always getting upset that that the gunner door and seat fall off. I kinda just want the drone to add it to my last one

I’m in the same boat. My son has the whole Afterlife toy line and now wants all of these ones too.

I've thought about picking this up. it seems like it might look good with the plasma series (I think that's what they were called) figures since they were 5-5.5 inches.

I would be all for this if the overall shape matched the old Kenner Ecto. I would love to get one for my firehouse without having to scour the internet for a complete original one. I don’t feel like the shape of it makes it look more like a PT Cruiser than the classic miller-meteor profile

The Real Ghostbusters Kenner version was re-released a few years back. It was more expensive than the Afterlife version by $20-25. I grabbed one for my son that hasn't been unboxed yet. He's only 3 so he isn't old enough to appreciate Ghostbusters yet, but when he is I have a decent collection started for him already.

Do you think they are going to make the proton pack of the kid proton blaster.

I wonder how long the stretch ghosts lasts before deteriorating. Hopefully some will 3D scan them to have permanent ghosts.

I do like the set but I agree they should of include the car trap but other wise still a great toy to collect and add edition to my ghostbusters collection

I will be passing on this Ecto-1. I find it hard to believe it's the same sculpt as my Hasbro Afterlife. Mine is rated 14+ and I love it except for too much blackening on the front end. I don't know how that would ever happen in a barn. I've owned 60's Chevys. I love classic cars,especially Chevrolet. This car looks too much like a children's toy imho. Is there going to be another release from Hasbro or anywhere quite frankly for us collectors? You guys are my #1 source for the best in Ghostbusters paraphernalia!

Same sculpt as the Fright Features Ecto-1. The one with the darkened front end was from the Plasma Series, which was entirely different, so you're correct there. What's available now appears to be the entire pre-Frozen Empire merch from Hasbro, but they could always surprise or release more 'adult collectibles' later in the year, possibly around the franchise's 40th anniversary in June.

Have you seen *_Frozen Empire?_* Come on man, you can tell us!

Jason, how does this release stand up to the Kenner re-release from a few years back? I grabbed the Kenner one when i saw it and the Afterlife one at Walmart, but haven't unboxed it.

can you please let us know if a 6" can sit in the driver seat?

Jason… could you do an episode on the actual real ecto 1 cars please… ecto 1 I believe was 100% restored and ecto 1a was left to rot after GB2 but used in afterlife, now with the new movie which car is this? Ecto 1 modified for the new movie or ecto 1a fully restored?

So is this Ecto Stretch Slimer different than the one that comes with Trevor?

Technically, yes. Arms are positioned differently.

No news or confirmation yet. Trailer seemed likely, with many pointing towards the Empire reveal and a tease from Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, but nothing was ever promised on Sony's end.

Jason, are you like me, I would have to buy 2 of these. Keep one unopened and in mint condition to collect and pass on to the kids when I pop my clogs. Or do you just buy it open it and enjoy it ? LOL

Depends on the item. Kenner Classics for example, I feel as if the packaging is almost as, if not more important than the figures themselves, so will likely grab two of those. For something like this, fine with just having one and out of the box.

Toys are terrible investments. I just looked up real Ghostbusters toys from my childhood. Yes about $400 if you can find anyone interested.. but that took 40 years!! Buy them some stocks instead.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Peter had decided to try and rehabilitate a ghost to work with them like an inside man and he chose Slimer. With the focus on slimer in the new releases they have got to be setting slimer up to be working with them like RGB

Wow, and you can see compared to the older ecto ones from the 80s and 90s, this one is completely bare Bones and this has to be the laziest and cheapest looking ecto-1 toy that I've ever seen. You compare this dinky cheap Dollar store version to the 1997 trendmasters lights and sounds with a ghost trap that actually pulled out, a bumper that bursts out, a rocket launcher in the hood of the car and all kinds of do dads on the sides that actually worked, and a larger size that actually fits figures, I mean there's no question this is the laziest and dumbest ecto-1 that I've ever seen. I know that kids today are usually on their phones, but why have such cheap-looking crap?
