This part was pretty cool seeing the firehouse around the year. It was first built.

only in the real history of Hook & Ladder 8 in 1904, it was still a Double Company building, as it had 2 bays, the cleaved in in half when they widened the street, which if you look that might actually be what's going on with the guy shoveling, but in 1904 the building would of been 2 bays not 1. but we know why they didn't show it as such. budget, why build 2 bay double company building for an establishing shot. the single bay refit that stands today didn't come about until 1913 after Varick Street was widened.

@@stevebragg4256 a. I get it, lowest common denominator, don't give them un-needed info, I'm just saying, as much as Dan Ackroyd loves that building, they could of added to the lore and shown it, or they could of bumped up the year from 1904 to just after the remodel say 1914. I'd even accept a throw away line in the novelization that in universe suggests it was intended to be a double company firehouse but maybe all the stone workers where working on that Highrise apartment we all know the one
Now THAT. Is how you open a Ghostbusters movie!

That’s how you open a movie, but certainly not a Ghostbusters movie. This is way too Hollywood, and doesn’t feel like a part of the franchise at all.

Where was the firefighters’ breath? Hello.
It was 1904 it where all begins since the NYC untouched by Time
I see this at the movie theater on my birthday May 6 2024 and it was so great 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥💯💯💯💯💯💯.
I say that woman had to make sure. That no one else didn't try to get that orb. Or they will free the God that is within it.
The firehouse is wrong. It was actually cut in half to widen the street.
The New York City Death Chill Mystery. 120 years ago, during a heatwave in the summer of 1904, firemen responded to a call about an incident. What they found truly shocked them: A room full of people frozen to death in the middle of July. The cause of this shocking event has remained a mystery...until now. 👻🚫
This movie was fun :) i enjoyed it
This movie is a metaphor about why you don't keep a part 3 on ice for too long
So I assume Nadeen grandmother was alived at this scene? So she just open the sphere and then close it?
I don't care what y'all say this was a bad ass opening

Oh yeah
Overall a fun movie, maybe a bit too long, seemed like they finally got to the climax, and it was a short-lived battle. I do wish that some of the toys they were trying to extract ghosts from would have come alive. Especially the doll, not many people like those, they always seem like they are possessed. Lol. But inside the chamber would’ve been funny if the doll would’ve started to talk, saying you can’t destroy me or I’m coming to get you, and then it’s eyes rolled back, after ghost was extracted, the eyes popped back to normal. They never asked me about that 😂😂

People seem to forget that it's Ghostbusters. They have the capabilities to stop otherworldly threats, the only reason why it takes them so long to do that, is because they deal with people like Dickless every day hindering them. It's been like that since movie 1.
Clearly the sphere is advanced alien nanotech and Duraka is some alien energy based lifeform mistaken for or similar to a ghost
💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
This is kind of a cool and disturbing start to the movie
Does feels like an opening of an episode of afraid of the dark?
This is the best scene in the movie
Alsom 👍🤠
As a die hard fan I could SO have made this film a million times better.

@@EternalEmperorofZakuul That's an idea. I remember how the mayor in part II said he talked to the ghost of Phill Lugadia in his room. How neat would it have been for the ghost of Lenny to come back and make a believer out of Peck.
I heard it dropped the ball. Too many plot points and characters. That's disappointing because the intro seemed really cool. Almost seemed Hellraiser like.

Personally I loved it and found it well paced, there is only like two new characters apart from Garraka of course, the movie didn't even feel like it was two hours long.

I’m on the same boat. Too many new characters and plot points that should’ve been fleshed out more. I really like the lore they built around Garraka. Had an almost Hellraiser vibe with the spherical prison Garraka was in. The intro felt very Ghostbusters-like, and it was awes to see how the paranormal world affects regular people like those firemen.

Honestly, the biggest problem it had, was too many cooks in the kitchen. Film was still very fun but will likely fall into the same vein as Ghostbusters 2 when that first came out. Hopefully when they make the sequel to Frozen Empire, they don't have so many characters in it

Maybe it’s just me, but I surprisingly kinda loved it. Because not only was I not a huge fan of the 2016 reboot, but I wasn’t so hot on Afterlife either like everybody else seemed to be. Frozen Empire, for me anyway, felt the most authentically Ghostbusters of all the movies since II. Though, again, I perhaps wouldn’t put it past myself to simply be going crazy. Lol
I thought this movie was terrible
If it didn't have the tweenies in it, would have been a decent movie 🤨

Honestly it's a nice touch with the teenagers because think about it like this movie the new ghostbuster films that came out in the last few years that it's films for the legacy of the characters. I wouldn't be surprised if later down the road we see a movie about what happened to the baby from Ghostbusters 2.
