    I actually didn’t mind the cgi Egon/Harold Ramis at the end, because it was obviously something that was done with the utmost love and respect for the guy, and the whole movie felt like a tribute to Egon and Ramis, so honestly, it made sense to have him appear as a force ghost

    @@workemail8723 no sorry but that would have been disrespectful! Recasting a beloved character in this franchise? Get fuck! You are the only person who I’ve seen say this shit. Even the people who reviewed the movie all agreed despite them trying to trash it. That what they did with Harold’s character none of them could disagree because it was a prefect way to still have the character involved. None of them could pick it apart. What they did do which was fucking disgusting was make sexual and sexist comments about a child. And they wonder why nobody listens to what they have to say anymore? Degrading a young girl. No that’s too fucking far! Everything, everyone said about that shit woke ass female remake a few years ago (I’m a mother of seven before anyone thinks I’m a guy!) was wholeheartedly deserved. That movie was fucking awful that I’ve still never seen the end of it after I walked out after seeing what they did with “Stay Puft” man turning him into a fucking oversized balloon. I almost walked out when I saw their version of slimer! Seriously what the fuck was that? And that movie got higher review scores then this one? No something wasn’t right then and something isn’t right now! Nobody asked for that remark despite them claiming that we did, this is what we asked for, and this is the official third movie we’ve been waiting for since the second one.

    @@defenderofminorities3056 a lot of it is as what people was saying about that woke ass reboot years ago about females fronting an originally male centered fronted movie and two of the reviewers said something along the lines of “if there’s another movie made with this same cast and the terror dogs return in some form, what are they going to do to switch it up have the little girl turn into one of the dogs and show a scene which implies that she had sex with either her brother or another male adult who becomes the second dog? I’m surprised (not me the people who wrote and said the original comments) that they didn’t have the children become the terror dogs in this movie as we’ve already seen two adults become them in the first movie.” Then there was comments made that they’ll probably have her “wearing revealing outfits just so grown men can get their rocks off.” Not sure if they’re still up online or whether they’ve been pulled down and/or edited. But it was disgusting seeing what was written about a young girl. A lot of people was outraged at what was said and I think some people made videos on the matter. If anyone said anything like that about one of my children especially one of my daughter’s (one of which is the same age as the actress in the movie.) I’d be in jail on a murder charge without a body being found. I don’t think it’s okay to say anything like that about grown up men or women and it’s definitely not okay to say it about a child! I hate the reboot and the hate it received was deserved except the parts talking about the actresses in a sexual or sexualize degrading way. There’s absolutely no need for or reasons to say things like that especially when they’re only doing their jobs.

    I liked this movie as an OG Ghostbusters fan who saw the first film like 10 times in theaters when I was a kid. Grace McKenna's earnest performance was the highlight for me. I thought the humor felt different but I still really enjoyed it. It was definitely a film made as a sentimental love letter to the original and to Harold Ramis. I approve.

    What was her beef? She was an actor in a film, not the screenwriter. It had its chance to be good and instead it was a vehicle for SNL stars, sight gags and cheap pandering. The problem wasn’t that there were women in it. The problem was that it was turned into a Melissa McCarthy movie. And I actually enjoyed her character. If it had been done right... but it wasn’t, so who cares? A real Ghostbusters movie manages to be creepy while being funny instead of brushing aside the important bits in favor of moving from gag to gag. And it was weirdly condescending and misogynistic because a man made it, convinced that he was putting in jokes for women, but choosing the most infantile and stupid ones he could find. Shooting the ghost in the crotch? Really?

    The highlight of the movie for me was all the scenes where it was just Phoebe, Podcast and sometimes Mr Grooberson going around solving the mystery of the town and why Egon chose that middle of nowhere place to move to. Logan Kim and Mckenna Grace had wonderful comedic chemistry with each other. I’ve never been a massive fan of the franchise, but I really REALLY loved this movie. My main question remains, one that was never answered. Who in the name of Gozer gave birth to Egon’s child? I never really thought of him as being into regular human women... maybe green girls from space or something. He seemed like he was married to science. Our current theory around here is that he got drunk one night and hooked up with someone.

    I haven't seen it yet but I'm glad to hear they found a way to bring back Ivo Shandor into the story. When I was a kid and Ghostbusters first came out that was always the part of the story that intrigued me the most. That there was this crazy, super genius who worshipped Babylonian demigods and was building gateways from other dimensions, who was obviously not crazy.. or at least not wrong. I was always a little bit disappointed that GB2 went with Vigo the Carpathian as the big baddie, instead of diving into Ivo Shandor a little more.

  • @SkywalkerSamadhi

    @SkywalkerSamadhi

    @@drunkdogwithagun468 exactly. Make it that Ivo Shandor was the reason The Carpathian was awake at all, and then when the GBs defeat him it could lead right in to Ivo. Zuul could be his General of undead legions or something. I think the MCU has spoiled us all a little. This is the kind of thing they were doing for Thanos all through Phase II.. even when they took a few missteps it was always leading up to the main conflict with him. Vigo The Carpathian, the Scourge of Carpathia, the Sorrow of Moldavia is really more of a Ronan The Accuser level character, even with that kinda bad ass title.

So when I went into this movie I had HIGH hopes. And my god when that ghost hand appeared on the plasma gun let me tell you I almost burst into tears. I was so overwhelmed with joy I thought it was so awesome. I hope that one day something as cool as a computer can bring me back into the world half a decade after my death will help continue my memory the way that did. Ugh so good. I’m so happy that this exists.

    Fun fact. The most pristinely stocked Walmarts you will find will be in the middle of nowhere. They are like that because they have no competition. No hobby lobby, no Sally beauty, no Lowes, no JCPenney. So these stores have just about everything you will ever need. That is part of why they kill small stores. It isn’t just the pricing, it is variety. Small stores can’t waste the shelf space.

    We watched it when it was released and my husband is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He makes jokes about it being a dump Etc… and our youngest son who’s six years old while we was sat in the theatre watching said and I quote “wow daddy’s right where he comes from is a shithole!” To his twin sister and me. I about fell out the seat laughing so hard. He was so nonchalant and deadpanned about the way he said it. Sitting there all innocent looking in his mini Ghostbusters boiler suit like butter wouldn’t melt. Even the people who was sat in front and behind us started laughing their asses off because they heard what he said. Called my in laws who still live there and told them to ask him (I’m not posting my children’s names online I don’t even post photos of them.) what he said about Oklahoma? He blamed his dad and said “I was only agreeing with daddy! You and gramps should move here to California. We’ve got beaches and lots of nice stores and it’s sunny all the time.” I won’t even say what he’s said in the past about the people who’ve had plastic surgery who walk around in the sun and you can tell they’ve had work done. But you can probably guess along the lines of what he’s come out with regarding the hot weather and “walking dolls” as he calls them. 🤣🤣🤣 I loved this movie, we all did and I was lucky enough to watch the original in the movie theatre when it was released in the 80’s. All the call backs and a certain scene (I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.) made me so fricking giddy I forgot I was a mother of seven children three of which are teenagers two just finished school. I felt like a young child again. And it was in my opinion a perfect way to pay homage to the late, great Harold.

    The 2016 movie has only itself to blame for being completely excluded, they’re the ones who chose to take place in a completely different universe in order to distance itself from the originals.

    I hated the Gozar casting, you could tell it was Olivia wild. I was disappointed, I wish they had casted someone as alien looking as the first gozar

    Gladly watching the synopsis here! I thought they ruined the reboot being all women cast, they stooped even lower remaking with children.

    It was fine. Didnt like the way the daughter talked to her mom. And tired of the genius kid thing. Of course its a requirement to like paul rudd. How can you not? May or may not see the squeal. Enjoyed the video though!

    Way too much time was wasted on that stupid barnhouse. Should've spent more time on the original Ghostbusters, should've given Marshmallow Man a better story, final bosses needed better story development.

    Please stop the whole Sell Toys thing.. yes, they can sell toys, but that is not the only reason they made this movie.. Also, kids don't play with toys anymore. They get an ipad when they turn 5, and that's it

    Not true about kids not playing with toys anymore but ya I agree with the selling toys like any big franchise sells toys.
