Personally I think it’s great having all these different variations on the Ecto around rather than a lot of exact clones of the movie car. (I can’t imagine in reality if each city had its own GB franchise there would be enough of the original year model to go around anyway!) This is your Ecto, and it sounds like it gives you all the fun you need!🙂

Not to mention the ecto 1 in ghostbusters 2 is different than the one in ghostbusters 1 so its only natural to have different variations of it

The exact car is super rare. So many were crushed or scrapped I would guess less then 30 remain world wide.

It really hit me when he said he wants to take his daughter to see the new movie in that car. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE!?!?! I truly hope you accomplish this goal! Love that car!

Dude, I remember being a junior in high school and being really into Ghostbusters and I wanted to be an independent film maker like a lot of others on the internet and I watched your movie and thought it was the coolest thing. So glad to see you're doing well and still have all the equipment. Can't wait to see you get this car back on the road for your daughter!

Working on it. As of yesterday Ecto's got a new gas tank and wheel cylinders. We're waiting on a fuel pump to get here. Supposed to be Monday. May rock and roll next weekend!

My mother has this 1980s Ford falcon sedan, and she's had it for ages, way before I was born. I grew up in it and it's become a house of memories. I'm never going to let it go.

This is such a great build from a time when references were not as good and just blows my mind. Wrong year or right yesr who cares. If you love it others will also. I sure love it!

I'll always love your including the real ghostbusters OST in here and there, I love that show and still hum bits of the music when i'm working on my car. (The track from 'Follow that Hearse' when they try to stop a possessed Ecto 1 is one of them, its up here on youtube)

Totally excited to see you get this running, and the memories that have been made and are going to be made makes it that much more worth it. I’d like to eventually get my own ecto, a similar replica would be nice but I like the idea of having something slightly (or a little more than slightly) different but with the same basis, like yours does. It gives it more character I guess lol

I'm going to make a whole video about the genesis of this thing... but we started out looking for station wagons. We were only doing this to have something to use in our movie. Tried to buy like three different ones, then stumbled onto this thing. We were so amazed that we'd found an ACTUAL Caddy ambulance, not too concerned about the year model. Until later...

This is cool just as it is. Clean it up and enjoy it. You will get a ton of smiles. You built this in the same way the original one was, just old Military scrap that looked cool. Nothing wrong with this at all. Great job.

Man I love how much work you put into that coach. I myself own a 95 hearse and ever since I took ownership of it, I have become more and more into The Ghostbusters because of the Miller Metor hearse. I can't believe this car is still around. I remember watching the fan film when it 1st came out and I and I was a Senior in high school. Hey thanks for your support! We got her going alright - a video is coming within the next week. Engine was great -- only reason we parked it was because the fuel pump busted, the movie was finished, and I moved to LA. All better now!

Great to hear from ya again. It’s super cool that your almost living the movie. Like I said before in the last Ecto video, I’ve always wanted to do 1958 Miller Meteor for my Ecto-1. Though I wanna make it a hybrid of both movie cars. If I were to find all the correct sirens but wanted purple and green colors, how would I go about doing that? Also, what would the best places to search for these old hearses and ambulances? We’re just about 3 months away from the release date, so I wish you luck plus that’ll be one hell of a premier entrance in your town.

Thanks for your support! Okay -- so a couple of things. If you want to do Code 3 Lightbars - but purple/green - I recommend buying bars with clear domes and painting them with translucent Tamiya paint. You can get it on Amazon. Finding old ambulances? Be vigilant. Look every day. eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist -- check everywhere as often as you think. I've been doing this for 20 years, and I have three cars. They're the only ones I've found in that time span. It's tough. Good luck! Let me know if I can help!

thats probably one of the best roof racks I've seen on a fan ecto! I have a 1974 oldmobile ambulance, and I'm not sure If I wanna ecto it or keep it as is. Nearly all the original lights work!

That is definitely a great ecto-1. Even though you probably don’t like the look of the exterior, seeing as it’s not the make and model, but it’s still YOUR ecto-1.

If people ask you "is that the original?" When the year is clearly off... you did a good job. I've seen closer year and exact year replicas that haven't looked as good as yours, so yea.. It's a good job. At least it's a real Miller Meteor. Seen a correct year Ecto 1, but it was not MM, that wasn't as good as yours. Real good job with the fine details, not having exact pieces. I didn't notice them until you said something, like the light bar and siren.
