red/blue lights are legal to have but NOT legal to use..... however 99% of all LEO's wouldn't do anything so long as the lights are used for the effect of the prop.

My mean comment: I am not a car guy, it looks like ALOT of work to even get to where you want it. It's your project, but seems a shame to get a car that close to the right year and style and make it an AFTERLIFE car and not they 84 car. 🤷 But seems like alot of work, but good luck in your projects.

the blue lights on the road NO not allowed by law only police (Red for FD) (Yellow for D.O.T) so no lights like that if not within department's. fact: Bill Murray (Peter) Said in Q&A that they just drove around NYC with lights on talking about how they ran through a few red lights walked into random stores with all the gear saying ''The cops looked at us and I mean we had wayyy cooler gear than them and the car'' so yeah the scenes with the ecto-1 headed down NYC are real shots of them just speeding around the town passing stop lights and things fact 2: Ghostbusters 2 the ecto 1A was so top heavy the ending scene where it shows them driving to the museum art place to stop vigo for a final battle. on that curb turn it shows the car on 2 wheels for a short time. that's real as it almost tipped over many times due to them using ALL REAL 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance's I saw on another video people talking about some of the cars being props in the movies. No All 4 movies with the OG cast used real 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance's

Well, it's going to vary from state to state as to whether you can run them or not, but just having them there isn't really illegal. The main thing is so long as you're not impersonating law enforcement or emergency services, you're fine. I know Minnesota let's you run certain colors of lights that aren't legal to run other places as part of a construction crew/tow truck/plow type deal. ( You find blue lights on tow trucks here all the time. When I first moved here it threw me off, as I had never been to a state that allows this before ) - I've heard some lawyers say that flashing lights in blue or red or both are illegal to own, but that's not what the actual law says - I got bored and looked it up. So anyway, yeah, just don't run them except maybe at a convention when the car is just being used as a display.

Yes I'm a volunteer fire police member if your an active volunteer then you can run blues. But if your at a show you San run. Do not use them on the road. As long as you don't have a fully marked replica police fire or ambulance your good but don't worry your good it's a movie prop car a anime thing your good bro

Laws can vary some from place to place but generally it is legal to have any colour lights on your vehicle as long as they are not turned on & usually even if you do have them on, as long as you don’t have both red & blue together (which is what the police use) it is generally in most places legal. So, if you just have blue lights & not red & blue lights. You are likely in the clear but check your local laws.

It's a cool car. Just like my mercedes 240d. I used to daily drive my classic mercedes with antique tags. I was wondering because they say it's only for driving to events and car shows and fun use and etc. But not for traveling commuting daily but they change that law about more then 15 years ago. Once I get it back on the road, everyone, including different locations and people that are way older than me witch I was born in 1977 when I didn't know about 1977, that existed when I was a new born. I saw the 80s, and I did see the Ghostbusters police Caddilac wagon cruiser rolling the streets in the Ghostbusters franchise movies 🎬 when it was extremely popular in the great full-time through out the '80s. Now, since my classic Mercedes 240d is on standby, do to engine that it's only running 2 cylinders out of 4 has to get fixed hopefully later this year... What a favorite car also currently going to daily drive my 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula daily with an LT1 350 V8 back and forth to work when I recently purchased it when I could have fixed the Mercedes. But it will be back soon. Also, great Ghostbusters ride. I'm classic car enthusiasts.🙂

lights that arent amber, having them on your car is fine, perfectly fine all day every day, but when you turn them on, there could be trouble, generally speaking the one time an officer is going to care is when you use them in a way you should know better not to use them for, like trying to pass off as an emergency vehicle, a big ghost busters car is probably not going to fall under that category
