How come in the first picture you can see through the tunnel and in the second you can't?

+gblumAWESOME 123 Because the tunnel became disused when they moved the line in the 1920s and the other end was turned into water storage for the coal mine on the other side. Pity......

They apparently have it damed off.

still in very good condition for its age. What year was it built and the span of its operational years.

I think it was built about 1886 and operated till about 1922 when it was replaced with a line near by. It's good to present a HD film of it.

fordroad Thanks, I try to make them interesting. Working on an iBook version called GHOST TUNNEL STORIES (aimed for kids and grown up kids...!!)
