Kalel311 superman they only want to let raiders in the hall of fame when they die. Just look at Tom Flores. He’s in his 80s and he’s still not in the hall of fame despite leading the raiders to 2 Super Bowl wins as head coach.

@@raiders7449 they seem to.dis a lot of super bowl winning coaches with 2 titles. How in the hell does it take till now for Jimmy Johnson and Flores to even get enshrined in Canton? George Seifert is still waiting. Tom Couglin is currently waiting and both got 2 super bowls also. It makes no sense whatsoever.
I remember watching this game as a teenager and knew I was watching an “instant” classic...🏈...I miss this era of football...😢

Forget playoffs. This was as good a game as I have ever seen
Ordered a Casper jersey earlier today and made sure to get the white one because he wore it when he made this play.
I’ll never forget watching that game . I loved Dave Casper , he had good hands never dropped a ball .

It is.........but, as the play progressed the Ghost wound up running a POST-CORNER.🤣🤣 Because the strong side safety was pinching in, Casper altered the beginning of the route. That maneuvering made him late for a post. So the Snake, who saw him NOT running a post, instead threw it to him where he was at that moment, towards the corner. Ghost, who was still trying to run the post, made an unbelievable adjustment, and then his justly famous catch.
We lost the coach yesterday. RIP John Madden.
i remember watching this as a little kid at the home of a friend in a family full of raider fans in NorCal. They were really nice churchgoing folks but during the game the "hecks" and "gosh darnit's" were flying all over the house until the "hallelujah" at the end. it was awesome.
Who's here after the Raiders just beat the Colts? Rest in Peace Mr. John Madden.
An amazing offensive line helped too! Upshaw + Shell and more.
The Raiders should have repeated in '77, They definitely should have been in SB XII against the Cowboys defending their crown.

Legendary Raiders team , Always produced great games, And legendary finishes, One of the reasons the N.F.L. is what it is today, Not always pretty but always got the job done.!!!!
I miss everything about the 1970's,stupid world we live in nowadays everything is too fast for me
The Raiders have been involved in a lot of famous games while Madden was the coach or as an assisant. The Heidi Game to start, The Immacualate Reception, The Sea of Hands game that ended the Dolphins dynasty for about 10 years, then of course this Ghost to the Post game, followed a year later with The Holy Roller game. Everything pretty much went the Raiders way except for the Immaculate Reception. By the end of 1978 Madden retired and entered the next phase of his life where he became an even bigger legend.
Dave Casper is the most cool TE I have ever seen!

This was a roller coaster type of a game. The Raiders were the defending superbowl champions and the Colts came ever so close to beating them. If not for the great over the shoulder catch by Casper, the Raiders would have probably lost the game instead of winning it in overtime.
Remember it well. Casper was another great Notre Dame tight end.
At Old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore
Howie Long schooling Gronk about this play today brought me here.
0:12 Those Raiders were one TOUGH Team!!! Dave "The Friendly Ghost" Casper with one of the Iconic Plays in NFL History

Was a heartbreaker indeed...on Christmas Eve...not televised locally if I remember correctly- not sold out...like 9 lead changes....we shoulda won...Bert Jones my hero as child ...missed a big pass might have done it...epic loss and Jones would be injured next year in preseason by Detroit's Bubba Baker and never be the same again..went to Rams in 1980 approx....sad...he was the John Elway of arms and attitude before Elway....who BALTIMORE did draft but traded to Denver due to his refusal to play for Frank Kush head coach .....traded for a no name offensive line guy..omg..1984 Colts gone
this is it?😂
