You are right. What's even better is that this directly references a certain type of old horror film. The Hammer Film Productions (i.e. Hammer Films), which where these old low budget monster movies. Funny the song is called Square Hammer and the video is a parody of old Hammer Films.

@@Inc.Cosmoo Nothing wrong with her music preferences. We can't choose what we like, but we can respect each other's preferences. My mom likes rock music among many other genres, she like metal, including some death metal bands that I absolutely despise. She kinda likes Ghost, but she says she can't take them seriously because of the way they look which is bad judgement on her side I guess, because she likes some songs from Cradle of Filth who look much sillier than Ghost. Btw, some pop music is actually good. I used to be one of those who thought that if you're a metalhead you can only listen to metal. But that is the exact opposite of open minded.
I'm late to the party but i just wanna say this music has had a huge impact on me. I don't think i've ever seen a band have so much fun together. Y'all are truly talented and it's clear that the music is made with love and true passion. All the ghouls seem to really love what they do and clearly Tobias knew what he was doing by becoming papa. He's such a unique character and some could argue he's like a mascot. Keep up the awesome work and if for some reason y'all ever see this please tell Sodo to be a little gentler on his guitars 😅

My best friend recommended Ghost to me for years. Never did I follow his advice until tonight. This is the first song I listened to, and boy do I regret not listening to it sooner. Now that our roads took us down separate paths and that we are not best friends anymore, this feels... saddening. Listening to this I feel like something's with me. A remnant of something full of good and bad times, happiness and depression, memories to be kept cherished forever. A presence of something so familiar, like a hand of someone dear on my shoulder, even though nothing's there. I feel like I've lost myself with his leaving, and listening to Ghost feels like the only way I can feel his presence still with me - a friend dearly missed. Wherever you are mate, take good care and all the best to you. I miss you, and thank you for all the good times we spent together - and thank you for recommending this absolutely amazing band, you truly have good taste in music.

My first time hearing this band and I'm loving it! Modern day Misfits? Giving me some retro vibes in a good way :)
As a mom, it does my heart good to hear my 20 & 19 year old kids listening to this right here, right now. My influence noted 💙
This is a band who is very good and confident at their craft, and they're having a lot of fun with it. They're conceptualizing and making art. I hope they continue to have fun and do whatever the hell they want to do.

I dismissed Ghost back during their Opus Eponymous days. A few weeks ago I was on a road trip and a local rock station played Square Hammer. That’s fair enough i can’t really get into the first 2albums but there is that seismic shift from Meloria (?) album just in one step/release where this power riff stuff and the poppier singing is introduced. Think it’s great how it’s all swishing about pulling in all these roulette details that not only hint at influences but do something new too
this guy is such a genius. cant believe i didnt find this band sooner.
Cirice is by far there best song the riffs and the way it kinda hypnotizes you and gives that goth vibe is awesome!!The video is just as good as the song they go together perfect.
