@@Kagetora- The really sad part is that it might not have mattered. I don't think Ghost would have left Roach, and pincered between Makarov's and Shepherd's militias there was no escape. Maybe he could have shot Shepherd and saved Soap from being stabbed, but Shadow Company would have swooped in and killed them both in seconds no matter what. EDIT: Ironically, Ghost killing Shepherd would have spared the lives of the hundreds of mercenaries killed in Price and Soap's pursuit of Shepherd.

If you reverse it it's a beautiful story about how Shepard and his men save Roach and Ghost from a fire, help you out of the mud, and use his healing gun to fix your wounds. Ghost then puts you down for a nap so that once you wake up you are ready to get back into the field and fight.

The fact they added the sound effects of your gear hitting the ground when youre thrown ... It sorta feels like you've literally been thrown yourself ... I imagine this in VR would be quite an experience ... And then, when Ghost is thrown, they added like a "haunting ghost" yell and oh man... The original scene is chilling, but this one is on another level...

I can relate, my dad instead of shoving it off just started crying. My mom even had to help him out mentally. Funny how when he bought the remastered version for me when it came out he made sure that I had nothing to do in the weekend so I could play it without interuptions. And from time to time he walked in like in that ,,Are ya winning son?” meme. And he finally walked in during this scene and he told me that he felt the same way back in 2009 and it’s ok to cry for a man.

Thank God i was able to share this with my niece, she went into these games completely blind and because of the new cod games thought they wouldnt be cool or interesting. Then had her playing the first one, almost cried when Paul died from the nuke. Then was sp excited to play the sequel. She was in love with it, and whennthis happened it hit her completely out of left field and nearly cried. She gets to experience an even more impactful version of the game we all did. She was in love with Ghost too, thought he was so cool.

The Modern Warfare 2019 game is a soft reboot. Missions from the original trilogy are mentioned. Like Price's mission with MacMillan and Kamarov owing Price after the SAS aided the loyalists. So stuff from the original trilogy *did* happen, but it fits in a different timeline, being MW 2019 takes place in well.. 2019. While the original trilogy takes place waaaaay before that.

The little details made this so much more devastating - When Shepard says loose ends ghost notices what he said and you can see him look up just in time for the revolver - Roach grabs shepherds arm when he takes the dsm - the look of disgust when he shakes the arm off This mission was heartbreaking before, these little details made it 10x worse

the new MW2 betrayal felt so bad

I was 14 when ghost died. I admit. It hit hard. Man i was so into campaign games.. they don't make them like that anymore.. i remember having sort of a similar experience with fc3. Fc3 prolly the best campaign I've ever played and in Cod, the Mw series and blackops1-2 were really just such amazing campaigns.

If this scene alone was in a film, it would win an Oscar. Period.

I’m so glad we got the chance to take revenge on Shepherd later on. This betrayal cut deep as a kid and still does reminiscing as an adult today.

The most heartbreaking part about this is that Price tried to contact and warn them but he was too late 😢😢😢

After Roach was shot, he still grabbed Shepherd's arm. That's proof the gun shot didn't instantly kill him, and us seeing him and Ghost thrown into the pit and lit on fire was indeed Roach's dying vision.

Archer and Toad were slaughtered too. The operator on the radio mentions "watch for snipers on thermals..." referencing the two snipers overlooking the estate. Dont forget their deaths. Edit : Also if u think about it, if archer and toad were on shephard's force's line of sight, that means that they were actually heading to the extraction point while providing sniper cover to roach and ghost. Shephard probably disrupted the communication line between them so they wont be able to coordinate a safer extraction route together, which is why you(roach) dont really hear them provide timely sitreps that they would usually do on the mission. The point is they still maintained their stealth and worked their way to provide cover until the "extraction" forces arrived. I could imagine them being puzzled as to why the extraction required such a heavy force, which is why they decided to investigate from afar, choosing not to approach the extraction. Unfortunately shephard's men had thermals and heavier firepower. Edit 2 : Jesus.. thx for so many likes and as always ... Stay frosty

@@klif4755 at around 0:35 you can hear Shepherd's men talking, at the end of that transmission they said that gold eagle (Shepherd) has touched ground and to "watch the/for snipers on thermal" though they could be talking about Makarov's men. However, given the fact that they are betraying you, it is almost certain that they are talking about Archer and Toad.

Back then, it's not really hard to trust someone, but today is a different story, and you have to be careful with who you associate with, because if you just trust everyone, some of them might stab you in the back (Ex. A girl using you). It's why I'm careful with who I trust. Only people I trust are long time friends that I know will pick me up when I fall down, not leave me behind to fend for myself.

It was to affirm what the fandom had already believed, that Roach was burned alive. It wasn't just the player cam...

I was like 9 when I played cod mainly for the campaign. I’m 20 now and this mission and the entire original mw campaign series is still the best story mode I’ve played

"Ghost! Come in, this is Price! We're under attack by Shepherd's men at the boneyard! Soap, hold the left flank! Do not trust Shepherd! I say again, do not trust Shepherd! Soap, get down!"

And they sent more than half the team there to the safe house. Only Rook, Soap, Price and another guy went to the boneyard. The Safehouse team were no match to shepherds men and I guess about 3 people sided instantly

You can see in this exact second 1:00 how ghost saw Shepperd draw his weapon, why ghost doesn't shoot? Because on those scenarios sargeants liutenants or every other ally will draw their gun to protect their allies against any other danger that's why ghost didn't suspect until it was too late and he couldn't shoot Shepperd in time because he saved his gun to carry Roach

"Do not Trust Shepard" I wish Price said it earlier.
