Ghost Rider is my favorite. Got Marvel spotlight 5, every run of Danny ketch and working on the random team up books

I sadly sold a mid grade spotlight 5 for a few hundred in 06....regret it, Big Time! , but I did in recent months pick up vengeance first appearance and that #28 and badalino's first in #21 and the 1990's run of #1, #2 and #10, #15 and the scarce last ones #88, #89, #90, #91, #92, #93, and #94, plus that last issue they came back to finish the story in 2007 issue #95. I wanted all those while I had the chance to get mint copies of them before the films come out. awesome vid my man.

i have almost every ghost rider key including MS #5 and every ghost rider #1. I love Ghost Rider and cant wait to see him in a movie again!!!

I was Always was a Ghost rider fan. And because I was taught by old school collectors. Helping me to figure out my collecting style...hahaha I even go way back for ghost rider. 1940s tim holt #11 and 1950s solo ghost rider books. The marvel spotlight I have like 3 or 4 #5s...and same for ghost rider #1s....but those older versions. Lucky to have 1 of those and I cant get my hands on a tim holt #11!!!!! ;( great list and I would always recommend this Character.

@@Swagglehaus you bet...hahaha!! I was never a picky collector. So I picked up multiple copies of so many grails and keys over the years. Good shape and complete I was good. And the prices were Unbelievable. $200 for giant size xmen 1. the same price for hulk 181 and so many others. Didnt ever buy into the high grade nonsense. Just get the big books for crazy prices was my thing. Thanks for all your content.

I just picked up 3 glow in the dark covers two were second print one was first, these glow in the dark covers are so cool. If I see em I’ll definitely grab them. The gimmick covers are always cool.

Out of al the books mentioned I really like that #68, it really encapsulates the tortured soul feel! While MS5 has a lot of heat on it now the peripheral books you mentioned are awesome pick ups to have. Personally I really feel the second appearance of characters has some value, thats why I really like MS6. Also its way undervalued compared to other major character 2nd appearances. PS there is a special place in my heart for some of those 90s covers!

I love MS6, its actually the one Ghost Rider key I own. Def worth a mention as well!

I have a raw 1992 Ghost Rider #25 pop up centerfold page bought it for $1.00 a couple of years ago. Was at a comicbook event show last month and someone won a free raffle of the 1992 Ghost Rider #25 slabbed and graded at 9.6.

Nice list, going to check out #68 now!

All I need is issue 36,49 & the last ten issues I could get them on eBay but prefer the hunt

I sold all my 1st series Ghost Rider books years ago. But I hung out to a few and I e of them was # 68. Great cover and a great story.

Loved the video sir but think you should also do a video for the Danny Ketch Ghost rider as his issues have also been heating up lately too especially midnight sons. I just sent off a potential 9.8 candidate for GR #28 rise of the midnight sons

@@Boxingbear Danny deff had some of the better art and stories to a degree to be sure, but Jonny blaze will always be the OG #1 as we cannot sell him short he also had throughout his time great stories and at times much more mature art style that was very well done

@@stichhavoc88 Blaze is the OG for sure. And some great covers back in thst run as well even when the stories didn't really catch fire. One of my favorites is issue 60, just a one issue story, childhood memories.

My Marvel Spotlight 5 is away at CGC right now. No telling how long before I get it back. I've had it for 25 years and won't likely sell it even after slabbing up but I do admit I enjoy how they books look in a slab,

Today I just found a copy of ghost rider issue 1 while I was thrifting. I bought it for 8 dollars!! I’m typing this and I haven’t even gotten home to bag and board it yet, looks like a mid grade too maybe higher. Thanks for the videos!

Great books.. when i was a kid buying comics in the late 70s and 80s, Ghost Rider was always on my list. I did like the early ploog and Gil Kane covers with the wavy logo more, but great books..

I loved Ghost Rider when I first saw his run in the 90's...but as I've aged I've really started reading the 70's stuff, its really great!

Have the champions-bought it as a kid, so mid grade...several 31’s but can’t find 28 in the wild...great insight on 68-thx

for the smaller pockets one could also mention the Trail of Tears and the Road to Damnation run simply because of the perfect art of Clayton Crain.

The Silvestri Ghost Rider #1 from 2006 should be on your covers radar. AWESOME cover (probably my favorite GR cover), both the color and B&W.

Also the Jason Aaron run of Ghost Rider has a lot of amazing covers as well

Even though I loved and collected the original Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider as a kid, as an adult I feel the 90s Daniel Ketch Ghost Rider is actually a better character because he embodies the spirit of vengeance better than our Bronze Age Ghost Rider who was hampered by the comics code at the outset. In short Ketch's Ghost Rider isn't afraid to kill wrongdoers whereas Blaze's Ghost Rider was.

Yeah I need to dig into the 90's run more and do some reading. Will check out the Ketch stuff for sure.

When i started collecting comics nearly 50 years ago those early ghost riders were.crowding the quarter bins.

When I was a kid, thirty 35 years ago, Ghost Rider #1 was still a hard book to get. Back in those days Marvel Spotlight #5 was cheaper and easier to find.

Since you turned me on to GoCollect, I really like this site but I have a question: if I subscribe will it profile the prices of raw comics vs. their CGC slabbed counterparts?

Unfortunetaly it only shows graded comics. I have yet to see a site that keeps track of raw books other than just looking at sold items on ebay.

Ever heard of the Supernaturals mini series from chaos comics. It had a team up of supernatural characters including ghost rider and dr voodoo. It's a far out choice, not sure its worth a spec, but the art looks decent at least.

I have #1, # 5 Marvel spotlight and # 68. Should I get these all grades? I still have the whole series but am really wondering about the first three.

Even though Ghost Rider made an appearance in Defenders he would have been a PERFECT fit for the Non Team.

Nice! The Champions book isn't too expensive and I can't imagine it'll get hot anytime soon, so you're in a good spot.

Why do some comic books have two sides, for instance I got a Wolverine Comic #101 and on the back it’s a ghost rider comic #101?

I like Robbie Reyes's as ghost way better

I like ghost rider if they get a great creative team on a new series i think it adds layers like immortal hulk or venom ( cates) otherwise idk not in current market for me.

Great point. With a lot of these characters its all about who writing them. Cates or Ewing on Ghost Rider would be amazing!

Swag , I totally agree with your selections. As usual everything was well researched and presented. I’m a huge fan of Johnny Blaze GR And am not liking how GR is a victim of multiple personnel now representing the central character. It really cheapens it making GR less special. Danny Ketch was difficult enough to accept but now we have a multitude more to process; including even Frank Castle! . Peter Parker is no longer special with all the mixing of multiverses and so on and so on. That’s why when I see a podcast like yours come by that takes me down memory lane I remember why I lived by the Make Mine Marvel slogan back in the day. Thanks for taking me on that journey with this and many of your other podcasts Swag! Very much appreciated!

Thanks for watching! Yeah I feel you on that. I don't love when they try to "replace" characters. But I don't mind if they do offshoots - like miles morales or spider-gwen. But I do think its important for them to make a distinction of the new character and now just lazily call them "Ghost Rider.". A good example I think is Riri William "Ironheart"...I like that she has her own name.

I have 4 ghost rider comics. I have a number 5 but unfortunately its the only comic book that isnt in great condition

@@Swagglehaus Just kidding man 😆 and that is actually a valid point. Especially with today's younger collectors who tend to get confused rather easily. You are doing a pretty good job. If I could offer one bit of advice, when you are doing these spotlights, maybe pick one particular issue that isn't necessarily a key or important from an investment standpoint, but just has one of your favorite stories or something. Sometimes the issues that are not worth a lot feature some great scripts/showdowns between hero and villains etc. and awesone artwork and are special in their own right as far as character development, foreboding of events yet to come etc.I know you are working on limited time but just thought I would throw that out there. Thanks for making these and try not to forget about DC !
