Same happened to me as well. I was omfg not my GFX.. I actually turned the game off, played something else, then saw nothing wrong with the second game. And jumped in again to see it happen again.. So yeah it had to be the game.

I'm really looking forward to trying this later this afternoon. My Mom likes to watch me play video games, it's something we like to do together, and she loves the samurai genre. I am not as into the samurai genre as her, but I am excited to try this. I am primarily a PC gamer and this will be my first time with Ghost of Tsushima. I have seen snippets and bits from video game videos on youtube but I don't think I have been really spoilered. The bits I have seen made me interested in getting it for my PS4 but I just never got around to it. Now with the PC launch I get to try my hand at samurai stealth.

@@MrItsMeMario1337 Thank you! We both are enjoying it. I thought Red Dead 2 had some gorgeous scenery but Tsushima blows it out of the water. The visuals are incredible. The gameplay is good too and both of us are into the story. We're not very far, we are looking for and apprentice archer who supposedly defected to the Mongols, but I suspect there is more to it.

In regard to your flickering issue, it isn’t a problem on your end. The anti-stutter mod gets rid of it tho if you don’t wanna wait for them to get around it fixing it

Y'all have no idea how happy when I saw Nixxes show up on the screen. I've never had any stutters/performance issues with a Nixxes PC port.

How do you guys not get tired of doing the side quests? Imo they suck especially the ones with the tracks, I was expecting variety but nope. I'm trying really hard to love this game. Ive just finished rdr2 and witcher so maybe its because of that?

I almost never replay games, but this one is special; working my way through it all over again.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but the bug with not moving during Standoffs can be temporarily fixed by opening the main menu and closing it. Right after that, the "Hold" button should work!

I've found that turning V-Sync on and capping the frame refresh rate at 60Hz in the game's display settings solved the issue for me and now I don't ever experience the bug anymore during standoffs. Pausing and unpausing the game didn't always work in my case before I found this alternative solution.

@@gameranxTV Please don't. The vast majority of viewers don't have ultrawides. And on my 16:10 display, it's an extra poor viewing experience than from a 16:9 display.

No performance issues, game ran amazing, only been playing multiplayer and Jesus it’s amazing. Had it on the ps5 for free for a little, but wanted it on pc. Here we are. I’m in love.

If you don't care about the multiplayer side of things or the Playstation overlay you can delete or rename the PSPC_SDK folder in %programdata%\Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc\ to get a 30-70% performance boost. I'm on 1660 Super and before deleting the folder the game ran at around 40fps on high settings. After deleting it the game now runs at around 65fps. This is before even turning FSR3 on.

I think you should have also pointed out that there are no subtitles for regular npc chatter. Blows my mind how they could have missed this as there are a lot of players who'll be playing the game in Japanese.

I waited 4 years for this game to be launched on pc because I didn't have a ps 4 or ps 5 and I also wanted to have the game in a higher frame rate than on a console. I love it.

One of my favorite gaming experiences of all time was playing GoT as my first game on PS5, and on OLED. It was the same feeling I got from Halo 3 on Christmas morning, seeing 'hd' for the first time.

@SkyDragonElite For a long time i didn't have the finances for multi-format set ups so just had a PC which i use(d) for other things besides gaming. Nor could i afford to keep topped up on 'new releases' but rather bought games that had been around for a while and discounted. These days though, I am also a more 'older' gamer so part of it is a case of being now stuck in my ways lol. That said I have found there isn't really a lull in games to play or replay.

I impulsively bought it halfway through the review. I just love this game and your awesome reviews! Addiction to games go crazy!

This is a very good port. It runs well on my mid rack. Apart from the cutscene resolution issue, I don't have any other issues you mentioned.

With a 7900xtx getting 100fps max settings 4k no fsr3 or frame gen and most importantly no stutter. Runs great

The standoff button sometimes not working, is an issue I have seen on the PS5, so it's not just a PC port bug. Logging onto PSN appears to give you some new items, like the a charm that allows you to sneak up to the hounds and charm them, and I also noticed 2 extra DLC horses, one that is black with a red mane tail and saddle which I am riding and give you the traveller attire straight away, among a few others.

I just started downloading the game and hopped on KZread thinking there might be a Before You Buy PC version, and there totally was. You guys are totally on point! (as usual).

It's amazing how much more connected with the game world you feel when the screen isn't plastered with HUD elements and quest markers. The way the game naturally leads you towards places of interest feels so refreshing compared to most open world games. I do hope Sony has a task force trying to figure out a solution for their PSN-on-PC problem, I'm sure they'd also like the money from these players.

First on PS4 then on PS5 and now on PC I will play this masterpiece again!

Good review. But anytime you said “widescreen” what you mean is “ultrawide”. Widescreen has been the standard for a long time since we switched from 4:3 to 16:9 which is widescreen.

Thanks for covering widescreen support, it was one of the features I was waiting for with this release. Appreciate it.

I understand the issue with regions without PSN support (Sony needs to fix it), but so many 3rd parties require an additional sign it. the complaints about that are so dumb. stoked to play this again.

One of my favorite games of all time. Reviewers when it came out didn't think the story was compelling, but I think they didn't get far enough in the game to be able to make that statement. Like all good epic novels in this era (Shogun, Taiko, Musashi) it takes time to build, but when it does? Fantastic. This game's ending in particular, although it was a simple "this or that" choice, honestly still leaves an impression on my to this day wondering which ending could be considered canon.

Man I love this game, time to play through it again!

Nixxies did an incredible job with this port. I'm running on high settings, 1080p, with FSR 3.0, and my frame rate is almost consistently in the 70s with a few dips into the mid 60s but never blow 60. There is no hitching, no micro-stutter, no glitching, this port is absolutely rock solid for me. My specs: AMD Ryzen R5 3600, 32GB RAM, Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB.

Hands down one of the best games out there, along with rdr2. And I very rarely say that. Anyone who hasn’t played it yet, just go for it. Might feel a bit repetitive at times, but it never fails to surprise as you go forward. One of the best fighting mechanics out there too. And having mods going nuts on this soon, it is just chefs kiss.

Ultra widescreen just makes all games look soooooooo much better. I seriously recommend everyone give a try for 3440x1440 resolution when thinking about upgrading from Full HD. These monitors do not cost much anymore, have amazing refresh rate (mine is 165), does not demand as much as 4K and with 4070 ti I can run any game Ultra on full resolution without any hickups while 4K would slow down and not even offer that much visual upgrade. Also ultrawide gives that perfect cinematic feeling and works extremely well for coding, art and multitasking 2-3 things at the same time on 1 monitor. Only problem is that older games like Skyrim (modded) needs usually extra mods for fixing the UI for ultawide view. And since I am using gyro for aiming/cursor on my PC (Alpakka controller), it requires getting used to different speeds for X and Y axis when moving the cursor/aiming. Or if you understand coding then you can fix the firmware to suit your screen better.

Had it in the PS4 loved it - PS5 loved it some more and now, now I’m going to see what it looks like on my high end pc. Can’t wait!

It's a great game but in no way is it not mainstream. It's the very definition of a AAA.

First time player and buyer of the game. So far I spent my entire Sunday playing, love it so far even with the minor glitches.

Can’t wait for sekiro mods to be made. It honestly feels natural for that to happen since Jin is more of a shinobi than a samurai.

@gameranx Hey Jake, that flickering is specific to your monitor or any other OLED monitor. It's referred to VRR (variable refresh rate) flicker and you can get rid of it by turning adaptive sync OFF in your monitor settings

I didn't really have the opportunity to play many games when I was a kid, so buying a ps4 at 18 and getting this incredible game was awesome for one of my first solo experiences. Glad to see they did the pc port justice

I have no idea how well they did the port to PC. We all know some ports had some major issues. But disregarding all of that, i must say this game is a must buy! One of my favourite games of all time. Truly amazing. Please buy it if you can

Hard to trust Sony given the weird issue they had with Helldivers 2 for PC.

Played on ps4 and bought the upgrade for ps5. Havent playe😊d since ps4 launch. I turned my volume super up! Best way to experience this game is to turn up your volumes and enjoy and hear the sword clashes and perfect counters. With those volumes up, it makes me really wish i was ronin within those time 😌

I am ECSTATIC that I'm finally able to play this on PC. This is truly one of the most gorgeous games EVER. I couldn't help just standing there and admire the breathtaking sceneries.

The fact that exclusives on consoles still exist in 2024 is insane to me. Im pretty sure pc gaming has take over the past few years. Theres no reason to make exclusives anymore...

I love ghost of Tsushima such a great game in my opinion.

Loving this game so far. Playing a 5600X and RTX 3060 12GB GPU. Needed to do some settings tweaking but managed to get about 120FPS. The wait was so worth it. Never played on console before so I am a fresh PC gamer for this title.

Its not only you, sometimes the button you have to press for the duel just doesnt work, but I think it happens when you push it too early, you have to wait until Jin and the enemy have stopped moving. At least it works for me.

The multiplayer is fantastic… it got overlooked on console, but man I had so much fun with it. Where as the game is very grounded and “realistic” the multiplayer is very mystical and hyper stylish. Cool abilities and enemies, great combat, and frantic as hell. Totally should give it a shot if you get the game

The multiplayer is great, I still play it to this day. The setting is so cool because it's basically got everything from the campaign except your fighting demons in an apocaliptic world. Totally give it a shot. It's not an open world tho like story mode.

Can't wait for the mod that replaces Jin with Yasuke, AC Shadows no longer needed

worth the trip

I avoided watching too much of this game when it launched because after 5 minutes I knew I wanted to play it. I’m glad I did. This has been a wonderful blind experience than runs buttery smooth and looks better than every game I’ve ever played. The pacing, combat, exploration and story are amazing. Play it.

Had it on PS4 and replayed on 5, watched this and thank you so much for having the widescreen! Wow, i may pick it up again on PC.... :)

The real "Assassin's Creed in Japan" with actual Japanese as the mc. Take note Ubisoft!

it's optimized extremely well, such a rarity these days, no stutters, and it compiles shaders before the game begins with FSR3 and frame-gen...and can be played on modest hardware natively, why can't all developers do this?

Wikipedia has been edited on and off so the revisionists could be correct. Yasuke was a nobody. He spent 15 months in Japan and was sold back the Jesuits and was never heard of again.

Geez, the sound is pretty good even within the video clip! I'll consider this for my third play-through. It was a blast on PS4 Pro and PS5.

3:09 probably should clarify that the cutscenes not in real time were because they use mocap animations in the video cutscenes that could not run on a PS4, and I’m guessing it wasn’t in the budget to reshoot these scenes in real time for the PC port.

Thanks, Sony, for leaving out my country just because you so desperately want your PSN to be an absolute requirement!

Wasn't a requirement for me. Maybe it's different in your country, but even though I have a PSN account and wouldn't have cared too much connecting it, All I got was one popup screen on the initial running of the game after the usual language, screen settings, TOS, etc screens and it said I could if I wanted. Not required, not even pestered to do so. I clicked no, popup went away, main menu goes up and haven't heard or seen anything since. Doesn't ask you everytime you open the game or beat you over the head with it. I was expecting so much worse from all the commenters and content creators. I was like oh that's it? Maybe you can't play multiplayer if you don't, but I have 200+ hours into this game on Playstation over the years and I never once tried Legends mode. It wasn't even a part of the game for a good while on release. I heard it's good and can be fun, but realistically nobody's buying GOT just for the multiplayer. Maybe it's just delisted and you can't even buy the game at all, even just the SP content, but if you can at least purchase it and run it, you should be able to experience GOT in all it's wonderfully optimized, butter smooth glory. Hope you guys get the chance to play this port and the whole PSN issue gets resolved asap if you can't even buy the game at all in the first place. Idk if that's the case though where you're at. @@KingXulthaar , got delisted from the Philippines since PSN isn't supported here. Same happened with Helldivers 2, which was a game a good friend of mine loved so dearly until it, too, got delisted for the same reasons even tho the requirement for PSN was supposedly removed. Sony did this to around 200 countries even tho PSN is apparently optional or for multiplayer purposes. Doesn't really matter when you can't even see two games that used to be completely available. Glad this wasn't the case back when Days Gone launched on PC.

@@Sumi_S Yeah these statements are disingenuous whenever they pop up for a game like this most of the time. A lot of it seems like it's just salt and FOMO because they can't afford it. Which sucks, def been there before myself. At least this port of GOT is actually worth the price tag. You definitely get your moneys worth with this one. Very impressive and unexpected level of quality and optimization. Might be the best PC port I've seen in many years if ever. Especially for a Playstation game.

yeah...playing this on a qled ultrawide is really something else. it was gorgeous on the standard ps4, it's simply breathtaking on PC (and I can't even run it at ultra to be fair). and it runs like butter so far. great port, worth the wait

I'm loving it so far. I don't have any flickering running everything maxed on my 2080ti. I have had the standoff glitch. I thought I was just doing something wrong. The only thing I wish was better were the npcs in villages that don't even acknowledge you when you just walk in their homes. Seems there should be a lot more characters you could get responses from, if even just an reaction like, hey nice horse etc..

60 bucks for a 4 year old game lmao.
