God of war 4 is one of the best level designs and art direction. But yeah, I played and completed this and it had great art direction also

I like how you zoom in because a lot of people don’t do that to compare. I usually watch videos on my TV instead of my phone to see proper resolution.

@@mikedergalev It affects the overall look and sharpness of the game. No, you probably won't pixel-peep at one tree. But if all of the trees in the background are sharper, the background will look much better overall. Also, people nowadays have huge TVs. 80+ inch screens aren't even rare anymore, so it really matters on those

@@apictureoffunction no im not. In fact those glorious trees in background are important ONLY if u stand still doing nothing OR in photo mode. That's it. When u actually playing ur brain is busy in other areas like - gameplay. And it sees the picture as a WHOLE, prioritising the foreground.

Such a blessing that they make new expansion. I've just started to play and didn't even finish the first one. Truly master piece like everyone say.

There's only 2 expansions, the "Legends" mode which is the multiplayer, and the "Iki Island" expansion. So I'm not really sure what you mean by "didn't even finish the first one" when it's not something that has an actual beginning and end to it

already paid $60 at launch, i wish i didn't have to sink $90 into this to experience haptic feedback..

So the haptics and adaptive triggers are actually noticeable? It seems even in the new games made for ps5, games are hardly utilizing the controller features and if they are it’s like barely noticeable, I see so many missed opportunities for where they could use adaptive triggers wayyyy more. Spider-Man 2 adaptive triggers were a huge let down, you just get this tiny little resistance bump at the very end of the swing when they could have made the whole swing from beginning to end have a big noticeable resistance curve to feel the swing

I’ve played both on PS4 and Ps5 directors cut on a proper 4k television, you must be absolutely crazy to not notice the visual improvements on the Ps5 directors cut

I've been playing the PS4 version on PS5 with the free upgrade, got the directors cut and I can't notice the difference. Maybe it's because you were playing it on PS4

I finished the first edition and downloaded DC upgrade. So happy there is an expansion. I love it. I play on PS4 without a problem. It looks beautiful and runs great!

Sucker Punch is an incredibly talented studio, it's crazy they managed to get such a beautiful looking game with so much dense, moving foliage, dynamic weather and lighting with a day/night cycle, while running very well and having very fast load times for a console as old as the PS4

Well it was worth it for me. I just got my PS5 almsot a month ago and i am playing GoT for the first time and wow it is not only amazing but the haptic feedback and quick fast travel with like no loads times. I am glad to pay what i have paid for this experiance and gameplay :)

@themotherphucker my load times differ sometimes when I fast travel. Most times it goes to load screen and then I press x to continue. Still somewhat fast but I thought when I fast travel there will be no load screen. I can count the amount of times it instantly drops me into the fast travel location. Weird!

I have already got the directors cut from the Playstation 4 Pro copy of this game. Will I get double of will it enhance what I alright brought? I doubt it, but it would be a nice addition to replace the performance - mode with a fidelity - mode, including updated textures and global illumination for example. Don't get me wrong, the game looks phenomenal on PS5

@@GrimzReapr Metro and Tsushima are vastly, vastly different games/engines, and the world of Metro is almost completely devoid of living plant life, whereas Tsushima has grass/trees/flowers/leaves all over the place. Having full ray traced GI would be significantly more costly in a game like Tsushima, compared to a much more barren game world like Metro Exodus

What monitor you're using?

I got mine in a ps5 bundle, but I'd say wait for a sale unless you don't already own the game. It's a nice upgrade but it depends on how much you really care. Some of us loved TW3 on switch and don't care about a downgrade.

Ok so ghost of Tsushima on p4 has a deal that ends tomorrow for the directors cut but for p4… now I just ordered a p5 and it should come later this week but I’m debating on if I should buy the directs cut deal for p4 or wait til I get my p5 and just get it there… mind you the directors cut deal for p4 is half off… what should I do? I’ve been playing the director cut on ps5 for about a week now. Super awesome game! I never got to play the ps4 version so I can’t compare. Either way the game still seems awesome and a must playthrough.

I have ps4 disc version but play on ps5. Is an upgrade worth it if I’m only looking at the ps5 controller haptics? I feel like games are barely utilizing the controller features. Even the new games made on ps5 seems like they barely utilizes adaptive triggers and those features and if they are used it’s such a small barely noticeable amount, the game doesn’t really come alive in your hand like they made it seem. So many opportunities to really crank those adaptive triggers that it seems they just aren’t implementing. Spider-Man 2 adaptive triggers were a huge let down, perfect game for it and all you get is this tiny little resistance bump for half a second at the very end of the swing?? Why couldn’t they make the swing from beginning to end have a huge resistance curve? Like when the web comes out an intitial jerk in the trigger and then the more towards the bottom of the swing the trigger gets really hard to pull and then easier as you’re coming up out of it. So much wasted potential.

The PS4 Version in "Resolution" mode runs at 1440p60 on PS5, not 1080p60. Plus Sony uses Checkerboard upscaling on that game so it's unnoticeable on a TV. The coop multiplayer is already included in the original game.

Hey just fyi you made a small mistake at the 0:40 mark, even before the Director's Cut, Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 ran at 60fps at 1800p, NOT 1080p. Just a quick clarification as 1800p is nearly 4 times as many pixels as 1080p, and only 360p less than full native 4k resolution

I don’t think it’s worth $30 however I purchased it even though I had already completed the game.. the Iki island gameplay definitely introduces an interesting addition to the storyline rather than some DLCs that release lackluster events *cough* AC *cough*

i get 3 framedrops to 59 fps in resolution mode on ps5 in 80hrs playtime.. its awesome... this game runs so fucking good on ps5!!! Best high-performance Game currently on the new generation.

Don’t forget the ps4 pro version wasn’t at 1080p it was at 1800p with checker board to 4K

Im playing the ps4 version on my ps5 and its 60fps and looks and plays amazing. I bought the Iki island for $9.99 and its great. The resolution between the two isnt very noticeable. Only difference is haptic feedback.

If you never played it, it's very worth it, otherwise it feels like a dick move by Sony.

If you don't care for Iki Island, the upgrade is not worth $30. Heck, even the $10 for very little is asking too much. But Sony doesn't give you an option for only the PS5 upgrade and that alone is a NO GO for me.

It sucks that I have the Digital version. Now I have to wait for it to go on sale :(

Good video all around but you have a few wrong sections in the video. Frame rate mode didnt come for PS5. It was already there for PS4 Pro. PS4 Pro Resolution Mode was 3200x1800p 30 fps. Frame rate mode was 1080p and targeted 60 fps for PS4 Pro. The free upgrade for PS5 was SuckerPunch unlocking the frame cap on Resolution Mode on PS5 and getting 60 fps. 3200x1800 resolution with 60 fps. Not 1080p and 60 fps. That was targeted for PS4 Pro. You do say that later on in the video but at the start you say otheriwise also PS5 version of the game is not Native 4K. It is checkerboard 4K. These are all publicly available information i dont understand how you could get all this wrong.

Framerate mode on PS4 pro did not target 60 fps. The same was in Horizon Zero Dawn. Framerate modes in these games were targetting 1080p and 30 fps - it was supposed to provide more stable 30fps than the resolution modes, although, there were not many major drops of fps in either.

I have the directors cut on PS5 obviously and want to know why I still get a loading screen??? It’s only like 1-2 seconds but it’s still a loading screen while others on the ps5 get a seamless transition. Why is this?

it definitely is! played it on PS5 with the "improved version", but the ps5 directors cut version is completely different story with respect to graphics.

I liked the game alot. But i really battled with its lighting being mad dark...

I agree it could be possibly the best-looking PS4 game on the console but I think Horizon Zero Dawn my opinion is one of the best great-looking games on PS4 because the company gorilla thay use their own personal graphic engine which I think it had a name but I don't remember what they originally called it But they did end up calling it Dawn Engine which they nickname it

I end my ps4 copy on ps5 with 60fps patch. I will check Iki Island and haptic feedback and triggers when get ps5 copy. I will no bay the same game twice,and no need update,because no have ps4 version. I take ratchet and clank for it.

Its quite sad that they didn't port the Director's cut edition to PC. The nvidia leak confirms the game will be coming to PC and since God of War PC is just a few days away which was also mentioned, the leak is legit and the game will come to PC sooner than later.

Not sure if anyone knows this but the loading comparison here is outdated. I got the Directors Cut on my PS5 after Platting it with PS4 ver recently. Wht I noticed is, whn we boot up & save transfer the game first time, tht is pretty much the only time you will ever see the boot up PS Studios logo. After tht, anytime you boot up the upgraded Directors Cut game again on PS5, it loads riddiculously fast, abt less than 3 secs putting us in control of Jin in open world 🤣 In fact, it is actually not possible to boot up & be at the main menu of the game on Directors Cut after the initial save transfer process😂😂 You need to actually, pause in game & exit to main menu to evn see it now 🤣🤣 The loading times are insane frm boot up to gameplay to fast travel north to south end (a micro second fade to black then pop Jin is there). Imo, since it also comes with Ikki Island expansion, Dualsense integration, 3D audio & dat ssd load speed, its definitely worth the upgrade cost for such an amazing game 😍😁

I don't know why people put in videos how much the loading time is from the dashboard. I could care less about that, you know why? Because when I'm playing the game I only have to worry about that once. What I care about is the load times from when I die to get back to playing the game, or fast travel, which in this case it is pretty much instant. So that's what needs to be highlighted, not how much time it takes to load the game for the first time LOL.

Have they fixed/improved the foot placement on characters so they bend correctly on sloped terrain? last I saw the game the feet on characters remained flat even when going up slopes.
