I feel like Ghost evolves it sounds like Rock over the decades. OE/Infestissumam had a 60's/early 70's sound. Meliora had a Blue Oyster Cult 70's theme to it, Prequelle early 80's, Impera, late 80's. Watch Tobias take the next album and make it a 90's grunge sound!

Griftwood is the most outstanding song of the whole album, absolute brilliant song! Best (YES) Ghost song since Square Hammer!! It's not "our new square hammer". Might be yours, but not mine or many others. Square hammer still had that darkness that this song doesn't. After the Square Hammer ep, Ghost morphed into a completely different Ghost. I know why Tobias did it and know it had to be done as I've mentioned before, so I won't mention it again.

Imperia is the weakest album they come up with griftwood is the only ok (not good but ok) song in it. People are saying this album is the best probably never heard ghost's signature songs. ( There are actually many good songs but lets say like square hammer just to give an example.)

I stumbled across this band by accident when Ritual came out. It blew me away and I've been a fan ever since. So glad to see Ghost get the love they deserve.

I like sending Ghost songs to my religious relatives who love how much it sounds like gospel music and don't actually listen to lyrics deeply.

That opening guitar riff and the tone - Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love. This band is amazing!

Tobias could put out an album of bubblegum pop with the Ghost name on it and I'd listen to it. The man paid his dues in a lot of bands that didn't go much of anywhere (Superior/Repugnant/Crashdiet/ Subvision/MCC). He's found a shtick that works and he's riding it as far as he can. Good on him!

Upon listening to the album from end to end maybe 30-40 times, "Griftwood" stands out to me as the best overall track. There's points where I've listened to it 10 times in a row. There are so many little fills, riffs and awesome things going on.

I'm pretty sure it's the opposite - an indictment of big national-scale religious leaders and the "faith industry" such as it is. Particularly evangelical megachurches.

That's generally how it always is for me and so many others when a new Ghost records usually goes like this: Any song that i dismiss as decent / good enough will end up as one of my discography favorites within a week. Usually takes x amount of listens and becoming used to the light situation

One of my favorites from this album. Catchy song. A great throwback song to the 80s hair metal days.

As someone thats loved all their older albums and was kind loving prequelle I knew they would go in a new direction but wasn't expecting like an 80s rock ballad album. Its pretty good but still has to grow on me

Guarantee you it will. Pay extra attention to the lyrics and the feel of the instrumental sections on songs like Watcher in the Sky or the short instrumentals. There is something very dark still here. You just gotta know what he’s going for here.

Ngl I am missing some of those heavy and sinister riffs this album as well. Also definitely hoping they return to some of that next album. But still enjoying this direction that they took with the 80's rock

@@CuttinChris imo it’s still really dark. It’s just applied differently. It’s subtle. Lyrically it tricks you into feeling good when everything it’s saying is meant to set off red flags, like THIS IS GONNA END POORLY FOR ALL INVOLVED, you know?

This band has so many epic songs. Tobias is a songwriting machine! And the production on this is massive. Sounds epic cranked in the car.

Right?! I remember the first time I heard Rats. I was instantly interested. It sounded so different from everything else on the radio at the time, which I felt had been getting stale.

This song is an unexpected slap. When I saw the titles this wasn't one I expected to be one of my favorites. I was so wrong. I love it.

This is a perfect rock song. Keep in mind, I was around when Boston and Kiss were new. The lyrics are evocative and provocative, sung melodically. The guitar has great melody and proper crunchy distortion. The rhythm section is pounding. Perfect arrangement and mixing. This is as good as rock and roll gets.

THIS is how you show you're influenced by mid 80's rock without being a direct rip off. Brilliant work!

I honestly wouldn't even call this metal, it has the guitar tone of a metal song but structurally it more closely resembles classic rock. Regardless, it kicks ass no matter how you want to categorize it.

Impera is the pinnacle of a beautiful progression that is Ghost.

Like a trip down memory lane, straight through the greatest metal highways of the 80s, this song just makes it happen. Absolutely beautiful!

My favorite freaking song off of this album...Grammy worthy this album is!!! Great job!!!

This is the most underrated song on the album. They would have have won a Grammy if was the song they promoted.

This is literally my favorite song in the world right now. This entire album is amazing! 🔥🔥🔥

Griftwood is Impera's "Square Hammer."

They nailed it on this song… Van Halen esque Aint’ Talkin’ ‘bout love guitar intro, super catchy lyrics and harmonies like Def Leppard, the break down during the middle of the song… Ripping guitar solo…. At loss for words to say how this takes me back to my youth in the 80’s. Amazing.

Months later and this song has only become better. Tobias, you’re a god damned genius

I read an article that Joe Elliot loves this album so I had to check it out. I'm impressed! Definitely hear the 80s influence and I'm loving it!

I have been listening to them since 2016 and every album kept getting better n better. This album has the sound he wanted. The catchy hooks n chorus and of course Yes!! Great band . They really blew me away after seeing them live. I will go to every show that comes my way

Griftwood Is An Absolutely Awesome Spectacular Great Straight Up Rock N Roll Song By Ghost And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.

This might be my favourite song on the new album. I've been playing it on loop all morning. To my neighbours, I'm not sorry.

Ghost are my reason for living. I've waited all my life for this band. Now I can die happy when my time comes😊🎉

The ghost of King Edward Van Halen coming through big time on this song. Shades of Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love with a bit of Little Guitars...Absolutely brilliant.

The note used at the end of the line "And never ever suffer again" makes this song awesomely Ghost.

Have been listening to this album for at least 6 months and is still growing on me. Spillways video fantastic. Griftwood favourite track. Ghost are a real treat for us

I love it when the Papa says "Yes" in the chorus lol it's crazy! 🤘
