"Hagakure" wasn't written to teach samurais to fight. many believe, since it was written during an era in which they weren't really needed, the book was written to remind them of how to remain prepared to fight. that's also why the book goes into the "spirit of an age" and how we can't return to it - the samurai had to accept that the world had changed and they couldn't go back to the old ways... which lead to the book being compiled from a series of discussions.

That's twice that Ghost Dog has walked into a room to kill somebody and had no idea that Louise is right there. There's something very mysterious about that girl that she can slip right under his radar like that.

The movie is indeed a masterpiece in every way; I just wish the ending was a bit different where instead of allowing himself to be killed by his master he rejected his master for his betrayal of him, killed him and went on to be a crusading ronin hitman using his deadly skills to help those in need, That would have been the perfect way to truly end the movie in a Japanese Samurai western style!💯😁😉👍

Considering how much of a wild card Ghost Dog was, I'm surprised if he really felt that safe around the guy (even though GD's did feel absolute loyalty towards Louie). Also it's a pretty big wager to assume that it actually WAS Ghost Dog shooting up the place. Considering the line of work they're in and all. Your POV makes good sense. But this detail still struck me as a bit weird.

I always loved how this movie got symbolic revenge for all the decades of disrespect Black people have taken Mafia movies since at least as far back as "The Godfather" (has it really been 60 years?)...and how it portrayed mob hitmen as a bunch of fat, slow, ineffectual old turds 🤣

    * You hear people outside shooting, so you finish taking a piss because it's not smart trying to fight with a full bladder. OK cool, it makes sense. * Hold the gun with your crippled arm... turn around to close the door and zip your fly AFTER you step out of the loo? WTF?!?

I know that when he holsters his gun; he wants to do it like he's sheathing a sword, but it looks so stupid! And he's waving a firearm all over the place.

Its a gun not a sword, you don't need to spin it like that before holstering it.
