Love the story. You never know where or why life leads you the way it does until the answer or reason happens.
No way a house in that good of repair would be gutted or torn down- those people are crazy... I lived in a heritage hotel for a little while, & got to talking about the owner about it; a heritage property has super-strict guidelines about repairs, getting approval for changes- all the way down to, not just paint, but the colour combinations of the paint have to be accurate to the period - they have to keep the stained glass panel in the hotel in good repair, because it's a special feature (& it would cost a bomb to repair, were it damaged or broken) & the staircases need to be maintained, as they are original. There are only a handful of places in Queensland that sell heritage-quality fittings & paints, & should they be out- they'd have to ship in things from other state suppliers - a person shouldn't take on heritage property without having a deep understanding & love for the concept. Once something is heritage-listed, it doesn't matter if you 'own' it or not - you've become its' guardian, to care for & maintain it- not its' owner, to tear it down if you no longer like the look of it....

This depends on whether the house is registered with a historic designation. That’s the point of her trying to register it at the end as a historic place - to protect it as you’re describing. However, it sounds like no one had bothered to register it before then.

@@winspiff It may be different in America, as opposed to Australia- but I was under the impression that, once a building hit 100- it was automatically heritage, & thus protected- registering it being a mere formality, not a race-against-time necessity to save it - but I'm also not an expert... I also think it's weird that a heritage property is with a regular real estate agency.

Might be different. In US, there’s tons of crumbling old buildings, some even historic. It would be problematic if they were all protected because many aren’t worth saving/restoring. Many are also dangerous (materials, structural) or magnets for crime. The saddest are the beautiful ones that are worth it, but no one can afford to restore, and because few people live in those cities anymore. If you Google any old industrial cities where the industry got moved away, like Detroit or other rust belts towns, and “abandoned buildings,” you’ll see some things that will break your heart. On the other hand, you may also find super cheap real estate if you want a risky investment. The US also went through a horrible period in the 50s to 70s in the name of “urban renewal.” It replaced historic architecture and walkable neighborhoods with buildings surrounded by parking lots and highways that cut through ripped apart communities. A solid percentage of it was directed intentionally at displacing minority communities. It has had a lasting legacy neighborhoods communities and neighborhoods to this day.

@@OcarinaSapphr- no, to get a house on the historical register in US you have to apply and show that the house has historical or architectural significance. Most homeowners don’t want their house designated because it limits what remodels can be done but I’ve seen a lot of older family members get the house designated before leaving it in their will. It becomes a way to preserve a family home. Also, yes, any real estate agency can sell a historical home and some even end up going up for auction
The father’s reaction to the open house made no sense. She’s already spent the money and got the food, why would he send away potential buyers? How would her dad even have known that her credit card was maxed out? She had already done the work to get the sale, why bother giving it to Terrence at that point? And how come Terrence never bothered to try to sabotage anything? He sent a video of her dancing - who cares? Maybe she was on speakerphone with someone. How is dancing crazy or a sign of anything bad? What was the point of having him in the story in the first place? That part could’ve been written much more effectively! Just have Terrence sabotage the party, and then her father think it’s her fault. Simple.

Why wouldn't the company reimburse her for expenses? Wouldn't the company have an account with vendors (for cleaning, food, etc.)???

According to social media dancing in your home is sign of crazy, they are constantly harassing britney spears over her dancing at home videos lol

In most cases, the buyer is responsible for the cost of things like staging or food. If the sellers agent agreed to take on some of those expenses, it likely come out of her own commission. Even if the company did allow some expenses to be covered, getting anything reimbursed from a company can be difficult. It’s very easy to get only partial reimbursement or full denial if they don’t agree with how you spent the money. Generally, hiring a band to play would not qualify. There are a few aspects of the story that don’t exactly align with how real estate agencies work…

Yeah, it's hallmark 🙄 But apart from all the annoying inconsistencies of the plot I rather enjoyed this movie - very charming (a shame it could've been so much better but hey, I didn't pay anything to watch it so can't complain)

I love this story. Thank you for the recap!
I love me a good ol' cheesy movie. Enjoyed that recap more than I expected to 😅😊
These types of movies wre my favorite archetype of movies. I used to watch ghost whisperer with Jennifer Love Hewitt (we have the same birthday lol)as a kid and honestly i love wholesome ghost movies and old time style and makeup. But i ordered a vintage cigarette holder and could never put it back together after cleaning it out smh

Then.let me recommend the original movie that set the tone: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. It's an absolute masterpiece of storytelling. And it's beautifully filmed. There are a couple of others that are good but not as great. There's Portrait of Jenny, Topper, Blithe Spirit.

Found the name of the movie: 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost (TV Movie 2023). It is a Hallmark movie. I just couldn't believe they actually named a movie like a real-estate listing.

It was a fun movie. Some of the details didn't track and some of the plot just wasn't credible (the usual hallmark crap) but despite that it was very charming - I enjoyed the cast and the setting Edit: by credible I'm not talking about the ghosts and stuff, it's fiction - that's just fun. I mean the real estate side of things. It just didn't hold water and was far too obvious to ignore
