Have you ever seen a ghost crab on the beach? Maybe you've seen evidence of them by checking out their sandy burrows? What do you think of these cool crustaceans??

Growing up in Hawaii we call them sand crabs. I was curious if there's a reason that the large ones tend to go into the water at night? It seemed at all times during the year you could see all the big crabs going into the water. The only thing I can think of is that they're trying to feed on "Sand Turtles" or what I think you guys call "Sand Fleas".

Ghost crabs are interesting animals that live on beaches and in the ocean at the same time. They’re not ghosts at all. In fact, they’re types of crab in nature.

I HIGHLY recommend a trip to the outer banks, at night the beach is literally covered in hundreds of thousands of ghost crabs. Their numbers can get so high that it’s difficult to drive at night near the beach because theres so many in the road. Its pretty amazing
