Hey everybody! I just wanted to share a few things. First is that I will be going live on twitch this evening at 7pm ET. I'll be writing a piece live, and will be more than happy to answer any questions along the way :) Second is that at the end of this video I say that the final template video is already up on patreon. This was the original plan, but it's unfortunately taken a bit longer than anticipated to finish the music I'm writing for it. Sorry about that! To make it up to my patrons, I will record the entire process of me orchestrating the piano sketch I've written and upload that as a patreon exclusive later this week. I hope you're all doing well!

the intro always makes me feel melancholic before the waltz begins. It feels like reminiscing in the point of view of a dancer who loved to dance but somehow no longer can. My take on this is how interestingly it fits with Sophie's curse, as well as the evolving of Howl's, their thoughts encompassing time and their encounters on their adventures. I would add more, but I would have to rewatch the movie more carefully.

I was waiting for this! Joe's composing style is, simply put, out-of-this-world beautiful and moving. I've listened to the whole of the original soundtracks of multiple Ghibli films, more times than I'd like to admit, and a lot of the times, they still manage to get me. The one thing that's for sure is that they are very different to western scores, and you can definitely understand the why and the how that as you explore the modern japanese culture. Again, thank you for the amazing videos

Hi AxillV, This might be a long shot, but could you possibly point me in the directioin of any reading material on why/how japanese culture is related to the musical compositions of Joe Hisaishi? Especially how they are different from traditional western film music. Thank you!

Wow, You're right! Never heard it before, but am glad that I have now. It's clear that it influenced the score quite heavily. It's always cool to find stuff like this. Thanks for sharing :)
