Ghetto Gava: Exposing Electricity and Water Cartels in Kibera and Mathare [Part 4]
What is the real cost of corruption in the electricity and water production and distribution in Kenya?
With the ever-increasing population of the urban settlements and the rising cases of criminality, can the government of the day create policies and provide a formidable solution to avert the consequences of these illegal acts? In the last episode of #GhettoGava, we speak to the relevant authorities mandated to offer water and electricity services to the
consumers.

It will take 200years for kenya to unmask the cartels and another 150years for serikali to work for wafula... Crazy#
amazing journalism. However, no one is addressing the elephant in the room.... the informal settler... why are some people living in informal settlements in 2023? Until the root cause of informal settlements is resolved, nothing will change. There is a reason why someone travel all the way from Vihiga to Nairobi, to find work and become an 'informal settler' in Nairobi. Until that is resolved, nothing will change. That bad governance and mismanagement Kenya is expert at will turn all of Kenya into what mathare looks like today only this time, buildings will be brick high-rises, congested, noisy with no enough water or adequate sewer systems, faulty electric distribution systems, high risk of fire losses, chaotic and deathly. Kenya is a mismanaged country and has been since 1963. The British managed Kenya so well despite their meager population numbers compared to the natives at the time, their inhumanity and brutality and it is a shame that a country as tiny and dry as Israel and a desert state like Arizona both of which have drier places than Turkana have better water management and electric distribution systems than a country like Kenya full of rivers, lakes, massive underground water bodies and humane climate conditions.
I didn't hear that the employees suspended on the basis of confirmed collusion with the cartels is charged and possibly imprisoned.. where do they go? With all that know how? Muko na mucheso sana! Hao ndio wanajua all the tricks.
Very good question...who should take responsibility for the mess??...I think this KPLC engineer lives in Mars!the informal settlements have citizens who live and work there.Of course he will feign ignorance on his fellow colleagues participating in the extortion ring.😠..Come on! Where is the leadership to guide in better electric supply management?
The Government housing projects should now focus on rural areas to decongest Nairobi and create jobs to people who are migrating...in terms of construction workers and those who have farms to farm and supply food and services to them

@Africa Uncensored May I suggest that you set up a "Buy me a Coffee" donation opportunity. There is a website where you can see how. I outdone Lee to donate but I cannot commit to a monthly donation because of varying income. But I will be happy to donate whenever I can. I have donated to KZreadrs a number of tomes through the above-mentioned option. It is easy to use. Thank you for our amazing journalism. Not happy "reading" but necessary and important 🙏
Profound... Share widely...
The KPLC engineer is giving us a wrong quotation of electricity payment, he claims that connection thro KPLC is cheaper contrary to what the informal sector residents are saying, refer to part 6:28 of the clip.
Very well done series.

characteristics of slums:
They just made this legal damn what a country
I watch this so called eng. geoffrey wasua muli talking and the same time laughing i got mad it is like not a big deal since he knows all kenyans are concerned is bullshit he doesn't even look like they're calling him ' eng' corrupt country like kenya can not help it's citizen thats why most of kenyans are suffering.
Kenya should go the china way! Start giving people ids based on where they were born, na ukar huko! Government has devolved, work where you were born, irrespective of tribe… that’s how to fight these slums creating havoc in society…
controlling the power that lights kibera is not an easy task. Its a process that is concurrent
Sisi ni cartel Sisi ni deep state hamwezi tufanya kitu. Mkiendelea na hii documentary mtu ataumia
