The comments on here is more proof that the ghanian youth needs to really do more historical research. Asking how or why she understands twi. Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire share ancestry with the akans. Same people, same culture. In Côte d'Ivoire they speak multiple akan languages and some are still the same as twi, hence them understanding each other. They wear the same clothes, they have the same traditional beliefs except for minor changes here and there. The only diffs are the borders whites placed there and the fact that one speaks English the other country speaks French.

44% of Ivorian are Akan. It's far the greatest ethnic group in ivory Coast. We have almost the same tradition.

I am happy to see Ivorian brothers and sisters writing about their Akan heritage here. This is actually the first time I am experiencing this on "social media" (even it is difficult in real life). I have been founding it difficult to hear something about Akans in Ivory Coast. Let's keep on uniting.

If only Ivory Coast spoke English. What a great ally Ghana would have had. But we are stuck with English speaking Nigeria. Our cultures have nothing in common.

The beauty of ivory Coast is it much mix culture from east west south and north. Ivoiriens are extremely respectful of their traditions. Ghana is our brothers.
