After watching this performance about 35 times, I have changed my opinion. I said she was quite possibly the finest talent ever from the Philippines. She is without a doubt one of the most talented singers that I have ever heard and definitely the most talented EVER from the Philippines. I just wanted to share my opinion and experience discovering Gigi vibes Band unexpectedly on KZread’s short reels up to watching for hours till now as I speak about this. Iam just so amazed and so much in awe of The GIGI Vibes Band! But ofcourse the undeniably, so much talent and very unique and different vocal range and styles, but all master class in its own superior level and very gorgeous Gigi De Lana! I am just hooked on to listening to the whole band all day and will never get tired! And the other amazing thing is all your covers are not just covers! You guys actually somehow makes the song lot more interesting to listen to as they already are or and yet better than the original! And to solidify my genuine comment, I have owned my KZread account for about 20 years now and not ones have I had the feeling on commenting on any of the millions and millions of videos I’ve watched in here! This song the lyrics is about Lola, hence not very romantic to some however in the 80s it’s like the benchmark for aspiring singers. The moment you can deliver this song as your own it’s magical. Your version if vocal gymnastic a perfect 10 and you “stick” the landing, truly you are a remarkable singer. Di ka pa pinapanganak alam an alam mo na how to score the perfect 10. I love you so much

Dianne Reeves is of my favorite contemporary Jazz singers and when I came up on this video of Gigi and her band covering covering one of my favorite songs of hers I was at first skeptical. I gotta say that this woman is more than your average cookie cutter pop stars that may be good but don't stick out from the pack of great singers from the Philippines. This woman and her band nailed it! She needs to go Global! All her other videos I went through of hers are all top notch. Such a versatile voice. Female vocalist have to be at the skill level (in thier own way) of Chaka Khan, Vesta Williams, Ella Fitzgerald,... that have that special presence to impress me and this woman has that , "blow me away" presence. Very few modern day female singers do it for me with their sleepy chipmunk voices trying to over do more soul than they have. Gigi has so much skills that she needs not have to over-soul the listeners to death like a runner up in American Idol. She sings on her own terms and kicks ass!!! And her back up band plays perfect too! Simply an awesome singer with raw talent and no gimicks! 👍 GIGI! IF YOU'RE OUT THERE.... YOU NEED TO DO A COVER OF CHAKA KHAN'S, "AIN'T NOBODY!!!"🎵🎵🎵🎵

I believe shes the top vocalist in the Philippines (the land of great singers) right now. And thats saying a lot.

I am one of those 11million viewers ,i watch this hundred times already since first posted on youtube

It hits me so much.. I miss those memories with my lola that time she tells me a story that has a lesson in life. now I cried cause I miss her so much.. I miss you lola...... T_T

Checked the original version and versions of other Pinay singers, but this is definitely the best of the lot. Period. Totally love this performance. Gigi really killed it by not only singing like the original in the first part, but by adding her own twist with a powerful raspy style and growls in the latter parts. You can really feel the passion and emotion from her voice and body language that truly matched the lyrics. Like thousands of others, Gigi's smile always gets me whenever I watch her sing. Nakaka-in love talaga!
