    Swamiji gave a wonderful practical advice - "the moment I experience distress/trouble, I become alert and withdraw inward." This reminds me of the "kurma" (turtle) illustration that Sri Krishna gives in the 2nd chapter of the Gita - just as the turtle withdraws all of its limbs when it senses danger, a wise person is able to withdraw their mind and senses from the external objects and abide in the core Being.

    let me try to explain ... as little as i know chit-abhas... is not an object ... more literally it would mean ... the appearance of consciousness ... when a person looks at his body ... and tries to develop the sense of observer - object relationship ... it is easy .. most of us are able to distinguish ourselves from the body ... but the next stage .. where we have to realise that we are not the mind too .. is very difficult .. because all our senses all activities ... all memories ... everything we consider as I ... appears in the mind ... it appears as if the consciousness ... resides in the mind ... and we can observe this with our intellect ... this appearence or reflection of consciousness which is observable ... is called chitabhas sorry for my limited knowledge ... and more limited clarity ... apologies for my rudeness in saying when weve just heard swamiji speak

    A question, if someone can please answer: At 11:33, Swami says we cannot infer that we are that Pure Consciousness, and that there is "no mark" by which we can infer we are that. But in another talk by Swami on the Drig Drishya Viveka, he uses the analogy of how at night we cannot see the sun, but we can infer the presence of the sun, by its light, which is reflected on the moon ('moonlight' being just reflected sunlight). And in the same way, he says that although we might not really have direct realisation of the Witness Consciousness (Atman), we can infer its presence, and that we are that, by virtue of its reflection (chidabhasa) in the mind, which lights up the mind. So here he's saying it cannot be inferred, but in the other talk he says it can be inferred. Why this contradiction?

  • @protonx80

    @protonx80

    4 жыл бұрын

    inference by effect ... meaning we can infer by smoke that there is fire ...there is no such thing by which the consciousness can be inferred ... let me give an not so orthodox answer ... for eg ... if we have a robot ... which behaves and acts exactly as a human being ... can we know it is conscious or not ... no we cannot .. (of course this applies to every other human being other than you too) the robot may just be acting like it has consciousness ... but in fact it does not have consciousness ... take this only as an example but then how can we know what that fourth is ... the so called turiya ... although it is not inferrable ... it can with vivek .. .meaning with your discretion ... slowly be reached by negating all that you are not ... drig ... drishya .. means the object ... and the observer ... all that is observed ... can never be the observer ... th observer is the subject ... this can be used to distinguish the real consciousness from the mind ... it is very difficult ... mind you because .. the consciousnes .. actually gets reflected in the mind ....and it is very difficult to distinguish .. the mind from the self ... pls forgive me ... i am the worst at explaining ... which after hearing such lucid swamiji speak ... i should not have the guts to say anything .. but i observed that the question was genuine and i tried to answer ... as much as a deluded person could

    @@protonx80 No, it's OK, thank you for trying to answer. And I understand the process of neti neti, and the discrimination between seer and seen. But just to keep things simple, all I can really do is repeat my point: In this video, Swami says there is no "mark" by which we can infer that we are Pure Consciousness. By "mark", I presume he means no 'sign' or no 'indicator'. But in other videos, where he talks about reflected consciousness, he says that we CAN know the presence of the Pure Consciousness (which we are) by its 'effect', which is its reflection in the mind. It is by this reflected consciousness that the mind is illuminated, it is by this reflected consciousness that we are aware of our mind and all its content. Just as we can infer the presence of the sun at night (even though it's not visible) by its effect (which is its light reflected on the moon). So in this video he's saying there's nothing by which we can infer that we are pure consciousness, but in the other video, he says it can be inferred. Also, re your 'robot' example I don't think that's really a fair comparison, because a robot has no conscious subjective experience and no consciousness that is reflected in its mind ( it also doest even have mind). Whereas I do have subjective experience, and can see the reflected consciousness of my true self reflected in my mind. And it's by this reflected consciousness (the origin of which, is the real me) that I can deduce/infer that I exist, as Pure Consciousness.

    @@mad-bhaktimlabhateparam2592 let me try once more .. remember it is a crude anology there is no mark ... or indicator ... for consciousness right but there are pointers ... which point you in the direction you have to proceed ... to find your goal sorry if i am still vague but a little further lets say there is no way to show the direction in which a particular town lies .... there fore ... there are milestones .. these are not indicators of the town itself ... they are just pointers ... which tell you which side of the road will take you to the town ... they intrinsicly have nothing to do with the town .. and if for eg .. the town has bee destroyed .. they still point to that direction (destruction is not for analogy .. just to highlight that the milestones are not actually indicators of the town only to the direction of the town ) again i am vague ... but this topic is very subtle .. so when reading the explanation .. go thru both the videos you mention ... (the parts concerning at least ) ... and the best method is to think ... think what is being said ... what is the difference in both the statements ... in one .. the subject the aatma is being described ... in the other ... a method for realizing it is being described ... two different thing...

    How Hindu or Hinduism or Hindustan came into existence? When a thought of Creating of any nation comes in mind First its name is decided, its flag is decided, then it’s Constitution is decided. Then creation of Nation Starts? Have you seen a country that came into existence but still it does not have name, nor flag, nor constitution? This only Happens in Hindu Dharma/Drama A religion came into existence still its name is not decided. Its flag is not decided and Its constitution is not decided THIS IS THE REALITY OF HINDU DHARAM It is Orphan and Waif religion, of who no one is responsible. In Reality, there is nothing like Hindu Dharma or Hinduism It does not have any existence, but circumstance created, it stealing different parts from different religions. Then how Hindu or orphan Dharma was fabricated ? Aryans the religiously advance people came to India with fading images of religion from their home land and they spoke Sanskrit. And they found Indian and Indians innocent, Hard Working, money generating and highly Tolerant. So fabrication of stories taken from different helped them to fool and rule. Then Aryans spread all over the country and who ever had authority in his part of land, he designed and created his own religion. And this continued for 1000s of years. They rule people by intimidation and caste system. They steal lot of money from innocent Indians and stored in Temple basements. And it continues up to now, first it was temple basements now it is in Swizz banks. Then Muslim came to this country found this religious mess or religious jungle. Some call monkey as God, some call elephant as God. Then Muslims combined all those religious mess and gave them the name And the name was natural as per their believes as backward religion or people be-hind. Then Arabic word Hind was awarded to them This, was the Day of naming the religion Hindu, land, People and language as Hindi. And again Aryans took advantage of this unification by Muslims and created Hindutva. This is how Hindu and backward/Hind people in understanding God and Religion, come into existence. Examples of many words English and other language stolen from Arabic Hind = behind or just hind Eardh = Earth Kafar or kaafir = Cover Koop = Cup Shoorab = syrup or sharaab and 1000 of such examples

    @Kalhan Sanyal There is Only “”One Creator of this entire creation and He deserve His obedience””, Why He deserves His obedience ? To bring peace and stability in whoever that obeys Him. If trillion of Suns, Stars, and Planets He created, if they don’t obey Him, there will be chaos, collusions, Accidents, Striking, Violence and Destruction. 21:22 / 23:71 But if they obey Him, then they can be organized, arranged, fixed, to established peace and stability by His laws and system. 16:49 / 21:19 / 22:18 In same way if we obey Him, His law and system will bring peace, equality, prosperity, equal distribution of resources and stability among humans on global basis by 51:56 / 37:35 So His Obedience is for our prosperity and peaceful existence like the huge Stars, Suns and Planets. If we don’t obey Him, we are inviting our own destruction by our ignorance. It is not and never that He created us and forgot us, so that we fight and kill each other in name of God. It is not and never that He requires our services and worships, there are Mighty Creation other than us they remain humbled and obedient to Him since trillions of years. 7:206 / 16:49 / 21:19 / 32:15 His obedience and His laws are for our own prosperity and peaceful existence. His obedience and His Judiciary, is for our own tension free atmosphere and competition free earth. His obedience and His Constitution is for boundary less, Military less, true Independent Earth. 4:1 / 5:3 / 49:13. He is on Hotline since beginning and wants to dictate His laws and system of peace and stability. 38:27 Already sent His message and texts to us, to bring peace on planet earth. 96:2 So, as long we delay in understand Creator of Universe and necessity of His obedience the longer Humanity suffers fights and kills each other. 2:30
