A compressor is vital for waxoyl, Those pump up waxoyl bottles you can buy are next to useless, I have had the waxoyl runny like water , poured it into a bottle (bottle and pipe warmed up in hot water) pumped it up and within five minutes the nozzle has blocked up.

What a difference warmer weather makes with this kind of job. Nice work Nige.

@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59 Bought a new 90 Td5 in 2007 that after 20 years the chassis was finished, a friend had bought a new 90 a few years after l got mine and spent a very messy weekend and used several gallons of waxoyl on his chassis and to this day it is still perfect, he also bunged all holes where possible and fabricated some rubber shields to cover the ends of the rear crossmember so mud wouldn't build up.

I usually Waxoyl all the surfaces with a brush, yes i am old school, then use old engine oil in all the box sections and nooks and crannies I can find yes its slow and messy but it seems to work.

Excellent and full of great tips. I’ve just done the rear of a mk7 Golf with 3 cans of a slightly different product. This was in the middle of a bit of brake work, which is possibly the best time to spray wax on a complete car as it does go everywhere! For the front area I’ll get a can like you have and spray away, which is why I came to your vid. Great to see thinning the product and general pressures. On the chassis, I think the key is to know the space you are waxing. If you don’t know it as well as you do, get a cheap boroscope and look inside for compartments, blind areas etc. Draw out as you spray also seems great. For external areas I found the spray cans create a very good ‘fog’. Unsure how long it’ll last but how well does the angle probe replicate this, please? On the sandblaster comment I’d say buy the bog standard 220L cabinet that you can get the cheapest and then pay for the ‘Parts Washer Upgrade’ kit, (see their YT channel). IMO, no need to buy an expensive cabinet as I don’t think you can do better than their guns etc. Just my 2p.

Take It frim me and Nigel. DO NOT USE THE BLACK TAR STUFF THAT SETS!!! Shocking stuff! On another note thats a great video Nigel. I've never actually used waxoil. Everyone I've spoken to have said lots of different things, moaned how messy it is and they you can't get it everywhere etc etc but after watching this its obvious they didn't know how to use it 🤣🤣 good job on the chassis. Its looks super. Again great video 👍

Hi Nigel, is waxoyl any good if there is surface rust already inside where I can’t get to to rub down and prime before hand? Cheers

Did you get a yellow hose with the gun as well?

Avoid the Sealey SG18 gun. Barely works after just a few hours use, even if assembled correctly at the factory (many aren't). I've had two, never again.

can you apply this with a paintbrush?
