Ruby A. Kate’s been in the industry for 45 years, and professional since 18 or 19 I recommend reading her bio and then looking on KZread and Netflix for her other performances. She started in Ryan’s Hope in 1975 and has also done lots of live theatre. I also recommend reading her memoir Born With Teeth the first book she wrote 3 years ago it covers her life from birth to approximately 43 and is incredible.

Jessi Tyson yes thanks to her dedication with her voice coach, ability to learn Russian, and the time Kate spent immersing herself in Russian film, literature and history to make the character more authentic

Wow. To hear Red out of character is amazing. She sounds like a completely different woman.

I'm always amazed at how actors and actresses seem in real life after getting to know them as their character. I guess that is what makes a good actor.

Surprised more people don't know Kate Mulgrew. She's a phenomenal actress. Her role on Voyager inspires me to this day! I was 12 when they started shooting that show... She did the captain role justice.

Ruth Gisselle Crisostomo I was 14 when Voyager first started filming but didn’t get to see it until March 2018. Some of us are late to get in the band wagon with the Kate fandom because we usually see her animated and her her voice work before we see all of her roles on television, especially internationally. It means that she tends to fly under the radar a bit for us until we see her in action on screen properly and then we fall in love with her rather hard and fast, and play catch-up. I live in Australia so I have never had the honour of meeting Kate or seen her perform live theatre.

Ruth I agree, but we are Star Trek fans. Most of the audience here of Orange is the new black did very likely never have seen Star Trek. The Orange is the new black is a drama, not a Science-Fiction show and this makes the audience very different. Ask the question on a channel about the TV Series "The Expanse" and i bet, most of the people there will know who Captain Janeway is and what the actors name is.

Just finished all 5 seasons in 2 1/2 weeks. Binged the hell out of my vacation on Netflix. Love this show. Hate some of the stuff that happened, but man, was it a good show.

Wow, Selenis is beautiful and very talented as well. The scenes about her son were very emotional to watch. I hope we get to see more of her story.

Sad that more people don't know Kate Mulgrew well enough that A. she is not Russian and B. That she has had a brilliant career before this show. From Mary Ryan to Captain Janeway to Katherine Hepburn she is a lot more than "Red."

All of them look so pretty. And Suzanne and Sophia have such pretty hair.
