Getting the big block Ford ready to go in 😅

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

If you've been watching for awhile, you know we've been known to drop a few engines... 😆 In all seriousness, we need to figure out the best way to lift and move the big block Ford. It's the heaviest (and most expensive) engine we've ever dealt with and we don't want to cause any damage. BONUS episode: • Sheathing in the back ...

    That ancient torque tube drive shaft is not going to work, and assuming that's the original rear differential, that will never hold up to a blown 460, so you will need a 9 inch Ford Rear.

    @@michaelwalsh98 I agree the drive shaft in the 1940 Ford Coupe needs to be upgraded and I'm not sure what 'the gear ratio is in the rear end is and whether it's been already upgraded to handle the 525 HP Enine with 650 ft lbs. of torque. Nate is a professional mechanic and he would know what the old Coupe willneed to handle the additional power and rorque.

    Hi Chad, Jolene and Nate, What a wonderful video today of preparing the 460 Cubic Inch Super Charged Engine and for installation in the 1940 Ford Blue Hot Wheels Replica ( One of Chad's Dream Cars ) Super Nate rigging up the engine lifter and making it balance and bolting up the Automatic Transmission. Then Chad working on the firewall area to facilitate the engine to go as far back in the body to match the replica of the car. It's a of experience and ingenuity to make everything work properly. Jolene the filming of this episode was terrific especially with all the great visitors dropped by to the shop for a tour and chat with Chad and Nate. The vehicle collection is forever growing in size with amazing artistic creations.

    Needs to have the body off, install complete modern front end with disc brakes, replacement rear suspension with suitable diff etc, strengthen chassis. Concentrating on installing a big powerful engine at this point? Why? But this show is not actually about fitting out any car for the road. It is a show that repeats the storyline of creating vehicles for the road but cannot deliver because the mods are not certifiable for a start.

  • @thomassciurba5323

    @thomassciurba5323

    In certain ways the show is a disservice because the last 20% of any car build is 80% of the work. That is why the Buggatti is taking forever and paint on the shoebox ford took forever (even to do a bare bones job). But that fact does not really come across in the videos, it would not make for good videos and is not conducive to producing daily content. So mostly the channel is about metal fabrication, getting the cars to be more than lot drivers isn’t really a thing.

    @@thomassciurba5323 yes I wouldn't mind so much if they just said look none of this is for the road. The failure is in the pretending. Eg the buggatti hauler. A lot of skills in many ways but it is not going to ever be certified and in practical terms it is a nightmare. Consider being in an accident. No frontal protection. How do you even get out of the thing? As I say I wouldn't mind if it was stated hey this is just for fun. An art class. But instead it's this is going to hit the road and we are waiting on parts for this car so we are going to start another project! Come on! But say these things and you get this navel gazing at the start of the next vid or half way through and comments like "this is for all you haters out there!"

    It would be a good ideal to put a flat bar under the front edges of the fender part thst stays ok n the car thst way it would hold the renders when the hood is closed.

    You might not want to push it back that far just to be true to the matchbox. They didn't have to worry about the foot room or driving position.

    @@PerronRoger what does that mean? Nate has more knowledge about fabricating an engine work and mechanical then Chad will ever have. Chad is good at building the sheet metal on the leave the rest up to Nate.

    Chad, I know your trying to do a perfect match and I’ve been liven what you all have been doing but before ya cut measure, f I’m your wishbone to see how far you can actually set the trans, you may be able to set the motor back as far as you want, I’m thinking your going to come up against the frame, you’ve got a really cool car going live the up up Nate did but if ya have to not go back as far as you’d like it’s still going to be super cool and frankly way easier!
