I just returned home from the hospital after a 3 day stay from an unknown spider bite. I am thankful for this video since I am a bit paranoid right now! ...I also suggest anyone seeing this, if your bite doesn't improve after a couple days, see a doctor ! I sleep in the basement. I recently indirectly added clutter to help out a friend. I've had spider bites before, but they were minor and left a small scar for a week or two. .This time, I had a scar on my elbow, which I couldn't see. It was sore, but my work schedule was crazy, so I ignored it. 2 days later it swelled 3X in size, I went to my DR. , he gave me oral antibiotics. FFwd 2 days, it swelled even more. When my DR. saw it was worse, he immediately called the hospital. . . SO FYI, if the bite is on a joint, they don't want to cut it open due to tendons, ligaments, etc.... SO... they gave me 3 days of I.V. antibiotics.... Its still swelled and painful. They think an oral antibiotic will clear it up. They gave me a 2 week supply ! My main point is, DONT MESS AROUND IF YOU HAVE A POSSIBLE BITE !!... It's VERY PAINFUL , & I don't know yet, but I assume my visit will be VERY $$EXPENSIVE!!! I'm starting HERE & NOW with your suggestions !!! Thank You Very Much !! Morris Roberts !

I actually love spiders. Very fascinated by them. I like to watch them make a web and occasionally feed them. You know, catch another insect and toss it into the web. Which, apparently, spiders don't eat everything that enters their web. I once tossed a small moth into a spider web, the spider immediately went to where the moth was and did what ever it did to set the moth free. I was both fascinated and disappointed. There are certain house spiders we keep because they kill bugs and other spiders. However, I do not want spiders in my workshop. Thank you for the tips. I'll be implementing some of these in and around my woodworking shop.

Attracted because they know that insects are attracted to the light and it makes it easy for them to catch their breakfast lunch and dinner. I forgot about mint. Thanks for reminding me about that. They hate citrus as well so I always keep oranges, tangerines and other citrus fruit around just as an extra precaution. That and they’re tasty lol

Mints, oils, plants, any electronic devices will not keep spiders away. Vacuumes will only have the spiders to crawl back out as they don't die from being vacuumed. In fact, none of the recommendations in the video actually work. To keep spiders away from your house is almost impossible, but there are a couple of things that actually work in a better favor to those who don't want them inside. 1. The lesser ammount of insects you have in your home, the fewer spiders you will see. Spiders are hunters and they go where other insects are. Simple as that. 2. Keep the moisture in your home as low as possible, spiders thrives in humid conditions and they spend the winter inside where it's humid.

Diatomaceous earth has worked well for me. Get the food grade type; lightly disperse around window sills, doorways, pipe/conduit entry points, behind kitchen appliances ... spiders should be gone after several days.

I like spiders because they keep wasps and other pests I hate away from my house. Although the daddy long leg spiders keep making a mess in my basement because they keep killing everything like other spiders, billions of centipedes, pill bugs, and flies. Also ever since my parents started saving electricity a lot of spiders don’t come anymore because the lights attract bugs for the spiders to eat.

Very good information indeed. Mice are said to be allergic to peppermint, so mint/peppermint oil (search ebay for a 100ml bottle), will be a good investment. Wasps ... They also eat flies (and other insects). Not fond of wasps or hornets, though. Both spiders and mice eat woodlice. woodlice eat mold and rotten wood. If you can get rid of the food-sources, it may be easier to get rid of mice and spiders.
