At 40 I underwent 1 1/2 years of intense treatment for a tick born illness. I worked very hard to improve my (failing and debilitating) health. It was a big push for overall wellneas. This was also the year that I married my childhood sweetheart after spending 20 years apart, and we soon wanted a baby (even though our other children are nearly grown). I consulted my doctors and they gave us the green light to "try" even though the stats said i had 1% chance. At 42 I got pregnant within a couple months but had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. Later that same year I became pregnant again naturally at 43. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and my ultrasound last week was perfect. We will soon announce our pregnancy to our family and friends. I just want to encourage others who are considering trying to conceive later in life. It is very possible even when odds don't appear to be in your favor.

I am surprised on alcohol, I have just started IVF and the clinic told me that drinking a glass of wine occasionally during stimulation is not harmful and even beneficial to reduce stress. Not that I would drink, I rarely drink alcohol, but it is interesting that some doctors encourage it and some are even ask you to stop doing certain things...I am just drowned in information and I have no idea who to believe.

Don't do IVF! The clinic will just casually destroy your embryos if they don't look good, but they are still your babies. Have you tried Vitex? If not, give it a few cycles. Way less expensive.

i had unplannef 5 weeks pregnancy. had 3 mornings positive tests 3rd one is faint one. after iv seen my OB 2 days after i got this period. then next period came back 40 days later now im back to my normal cycle for 2 months now. Cervical mucus and Opks tell you when ovulation is approaching (when to have sex), and bbt tells u when ovulation is over (when to stop having sex). Bbt also tells you about your hormones. If most of your temps aren’t higher post ovulation compared to pre ovulation, then you may have a hormonal problem.

Basal body temperature. It's taking your temp daily upon waking with a thermometer and recording that data. Tons of videos about how to do this on KZread! 👍🏼

I personally would add boron… i told my sister that after she tried 8 years… even ivf failed.. in 2 months on boron she got pregnant (boron supplement,not borax!)

I think it is actually nice that you mention how the actions of the male are also important. It is so common to see the blame on the women when theres a miscarrage and very often we women feel that its our fault and the male can just continue having bad actions without knowing that he is probably the cause of having abnormal sperm that leads to miscarrage. In my case we are both quite healthy, Im vegan and gluten free, low carbs, we both do not smoke drink or have drugs, we have sex very often but I do have endemetrios and since I stopped the pill I am very careful with the amount of sugar and we hope to get pregnant soon. I talked to him about sugar and cholesterol because he loves sugary food and butter a lot, we will try to improve this to give us the best chances this month 🥲 Thank you for this very informative video sir!

@@slimthickaz. Many people have gotten sucessfully pregnant and carried it to term on a vegan diet. Check the experiment done by Dr Neal Bernard. In his experiment a woman who was having difficulty conceiving for many years on meat diet successfully conceived by going vegan. Also we need to eat whole foods and unprocessed that's the key, and make sure all the vitamins essential for conceiving are covered by our diet. For example zinc, iron etc. for zinc pumpkin seeds are the best and iron is found in plenty of vegetables like beetroots, green leafy, pomegranates, and dates too.

Im also doing BBT and LH, what he didnt tell the ladies on here is BBT is the ONE way to confirm we ovulated - just becuase someone may get a positive LH test doesnt mean we ovulated nor does it mean we ovulated the next day - some cases like myself ovulate two days after my peak. I think hes doing the ladies on here a dis service by not telling them the right information even being a fertility dr. I will continue doing BBT and LH tracking despite what he said. Baby dust to you momma. :)

To funny he's been my obgyn for all my children. Crazy to see his videos. He's such a sweet man and really does care about people and babies. He's however doing alot of these and less in the office. So not sure how I feel about that. We need doctors to stay in the field less in media.

Well we tried for 3 years now and considering ivf soon , I’m turning 35 soon, so yes in the past I would smoke or have a drink here and there , I would still take vitamins , eating habits are decent , but now I have cut out alcohol and smoking for sure , ordered better vitamins , hopeful, yet I did have low ovarian reserve at 2.4 AMH levels which I was told were considered to be low for my age, on the paper I was ovulating when I was checking, yet I think my progesterone was low when it was supposed to be high, I think those factors matter right ?! Anyways thank you for the info

Hey there! 2.4 AMH is still plenty to get pregnant naturally! Currently suffering with an AMH of .25 at age 35. Switch to a Mira kit for tracking hormones. I’ve been tracking using bbt and CM and OPKs for 2 years, but just switched to Mira at recommendation of reconstructive fertility specialist. We were going to a IVF clinic for the last year (but we cannot do IVF for religious reasons) but there are lots of tests a specialist can run that will effect fertility. 1) TSH should be below 2.5 (thats actually a kinda easy fix and addressing it helped my SIL get pregnant) 2) other hormones balanced-this is where I recommend just invest in the Mira, the IVF hormone testing costs are crazy and will start to happen monthly. I just found out I have high DHEA-s, so we will start addressing that (likely a weird silent form of PCOS or insulin issues). Hopefully you’ve had an ultrasound to see if you are normally shaped, to check the tubes for you need an HSG, I needed an SIS because of suspected polyps and then later a polyp surgery. If they pull anything out of your uterus, see if they can’t do a biopsy because a chronic infection was found by my polyps and required weeks of antibiotics and if I’m being honest we don’t 100%know if that cleared the infection or not cuz the only real way to tell is to do another biopsy. If you get the Mira, then you’ll be able to see your hormones through the cycle (the cost really is nothing compared to everything I’ve gone through so far, and we aren’t even talking IVF at this point). Then if progesterone is low, you know what kind of issue you may have to deal with, or if estrogen is quite high, there could be lifestyle factors to address to get rid of those, OR if you are having more than 1 LH surge, you can see that with the Mira but other OPKs don’t show that. At any rate, 2.4 at 35 is absolutely fine for natural pregnancy (as per several fertility specialists I’ve worked with, mostly they are hoping it’s over 1) if it’s higher it likely means there are more eggs for them to harvest during and IVF cycle-2.4 might be low enough that they’ll recommend 4-6 retrievals or something. Anyway, best of luck to you! I hope my journey so far can save you some time

Question here - The impact of beer was an interesting one. There is a huge prevalence of non-alcoholic beer and wine now. For clarification purposes would assume that because your saying the issue is the chemical content of the beer itself and not something which is a by-product of the fermentation process that ANY Beer or Wine would likely ben an issue - Correct?

Probably non alcoholic beer would be OK in moderation, but still check the sugars. Sugar will wreck your fertility, male or female. Real Food for Fertility has a chapter specifically for men that's helpful.

Hi Doctor I was diagnosed with pcod not pcos 6 months earlier i have reduced my weight around 5 kgs now i am 5’4” and now at 61kg approx. me and my husband are trying since three months now but no luck. I even used ovulation test kit but it has never come up full dark positive and i have tested every day after my periods in morning when i wake up. I get periods now around 35 days cycle. Could you please suggest what might be wrong like why my ovulation test does not appear full positive and still i get periods every month. Samething happened with friend. When she did ovulation study, she found she does not ovulate. They are trying with IVF now. Ivf may not be required with all, but you should definitely meet a gynecologist soon

Don't stress too much. You need to try for pregnancy naturally for 6 months.. sometimes it takes 1 year to get a positive pregnancy test. Don't do too many tests.. just be relaxed.. exercise.. eat a balanced diet. Avoid junk. And try naturally. Doing too many tests will only stress you out. Keep trying and enjoy the process. U will soon get a positive result when u don't even expect. If u are desperate about things it will only get delayed

No matter if you’re 40 or whatever, after reading Dobbie Nerkstrol's guide, I ended up pleasantly surprised. Within 60 days anyone can get pregnant, feeling the changes in your body the first few weeks. After go’ogling her I understood it's not a miracle kind of thing like the title suggests, but you can bet you'll boost your chances.

I've not dealt with this myself and am not a medical professional, but there are supplements that can help, like Ashwagandha and CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10). Of course a healthy diet and exercise, good sleep and a good circadian rhythm (predictable schedule, sleeping at night and waking in the morning, etc). No smoking, no alcohol of course, and no smoking marijuana. I would take a look at the subreddit r/maleinfertility. Some guys have managed to go from zero to just below average numbers in a few months.

Are you saying that women who have been diagnosed with Robertsonian Translocation shouldn't do IVF?

I literally can have eggwhite mucus multiple times in my cycle with NO SURGE - I also don’t always get the famous ovulation dip in my temps! I use ALL of these things including my ovulation sticks to predict my ovulation window.

How about the drops to bring my hormones in balance, if they are including alcohol? They made with alcohol just to get the herb's benefits out from the plant. Are they harmful because of alcohol too? Other question: the pee tests are not signaling any lh hormone peak, but my doctor says my hormines are okay, I am ovulating. What's the cause??

To add: we had 2 failed iuis, my doctor recommended IVF and she doesn't think there is any other tests to be done, we have been struggling for 5 years. 😭

100%. There is reasonably convincing data on this. Fertilysis can test for it. Treatment is anti viral therapy around conception both before and after.

What are the other options apart from ivf if you partner has failed vasectomy reversal? And there is no sperms. It’s been 3 years my partner had vasectomy reversal and no sperm at all.
