BTW, I had my tubes tied at 19 and in the early 80's, it was hard finding a doctor that would honor my request. Believe me or not, my spouse had to sign permission for procedure before doctor would do procedure.

As I get older, now in my 40s, I find mating up and having kids is just the natural part of life. I know I don’t want to be alone and lonely in the future in old age so I still have time to find a spouse and have a kid someday.

I have wrestled with loneliness a couple of times after I decided to go through life by myself, but have gotten over that years ago, and now I see what a true gift being single as a male. To me, there is a sense of peace that pays you dividends, compounded daily! I feel sorry for all those men in relation in today's family dynamics, where they are considered, and treated like the enemy or bad person. I often wonder how they can stand living with people that hate who he is, and are waiting for the slight discretion to ruin his life. Me too-I feel the same way, I dodge a 50 cal bullet! Grateful to be single with no kids!

I agree with you, people that don’t want children shouldn’t have them. I always wanted to get married and children. I’m glad I had my daughter. Never regretted that decision. Like you say, the idea vs reality 😅

I am both single and childfree by choice. I don’t want a relationship let alone marriage, romantic partnership is expensive because of having to pay for dinners, parties and gifts to make the other party feel special and happy. I don’t want children because either because they are a lot more expensive from diapers, clothes, through school supplies, leisure activities and to a college/university education. Getting married truly is selfish to me because people just want companionship, sexual satisfaction and financial security through someone else. Having children way more selfish because they don’t ask to come into this world filled with disgustingness. I am damn well proud of my singleness and childlessness because I get to have a quiet, peaceful, drama free and stress free life and that I get to do what I want when I want.

I'm in my 60's and have seen a change that may resonate with you. IMHO, pre 70's, when a man and woman married, both of their mindsets were, "having children was part of their union." In other words, children were important, but they, husband and wife. were always at the center of the family unit, because the woman knew she needed the man for primary support. Now, it seems when children enter the relationship, the woman's minset (despite what she says it is) is "our marriage is part of having children." Therefore, she pulls the children to the center with her and pushes the man to the fringe, because in her eyes, he's not seen as necessary to survival as in the past. She begins withholding sex, affection and intimacy with the husband. This leaves the husband feeling unloved, unwanted and unappreciated, which he is. Sad times.

I'm so glad I don't have to put up with them in a close setting and can do whatever I want to do anytime I want to do it. I have no stirings and I'm loving life.
