I remember when I was in my 20 I was crying when my relationships failed...now, when I see those middle aged women whit their kids I say "Thank GOD" it failed. Love you Sam.

100%. Not saying I wouldn't have a relationship with the right woman. The point is that the relationship with the wrong person is SO BAD that it's to be avoided in all scenarios...

Couldnt even imagine having kids in this crazy world. The joy they might bring ,IMO, isnt worth the freedom you lose. Truth be told, I always admire a young family. If they can make it work best of luck to them all!!!
I am a childfree man at 42. 😎
Childless at 62 but totally happy with long term spouse. Great TED talk.

BTW, I had my tubes tied at 19 and in the early 80's, it was hard finding a doctor that would honor my request. Believe me or not, my spouse had to sign permission for procedure before doctor would do procedure.

As I get older, now in my 40s, I find mating up and having kids is just the natural part of life. I know I don’t want to be alone and lonely in the future in old age so I still have time to find a spouse and have a kid someday.

46 single with no kids. I saw what happened to 98% of all my friends and even though they love their children they have all told me I made the right choice being single and free .
I have wrestled with loneliness a couple of times after I decided to go through life by myself, but have gotten over that years ago, and now I see what a true gift being single as a male. To me, there is a sense of peace that pays you dividends, compounded daily! I feel sorry for all those men in relation in today's family dynamics, where they are considered, and treated like the enemy or bad person. I often wonder how they can stand living with people that hate who he is, and are waiting for the slight discretion to ruin his life. Me too-I feel the same way, I dodge a 50 cal bullet! Grateful to be single with no kids!
I agree with you, people that don’t want children shouldn’t have them. I always wanted to get married and children. I’m glad I had my daughter. Never regretted that decision. Like you say, the idea vs reality 😅
I am both single and childfree by choice. I don’t want a relationship let alone marriage, romantic partnership is expensive because of having to pay for dinners, parties and gifts to make the other party feel special and happy. I don’t want children because either because they are a lot more expensive from diapers, clothes, through school supplies, leisure activities and to a college/university education. Getting married truly is selfish to me because people just want companionship, sexual satisfaction and financial security through someone else. Having children way more selfish because they don’t ask to come into this world filled with disgustingness. I am damn well proud of my singleness and childlessness because I get to have a quiet, peaceful, drama free and stress free life and that I get to do what I want when I want.
Never ever get married if it's just lust not love. Definitely never bring kids into this corrupt system
Mid 40s here and glad I didn't have them. I no longer get sad about it. Those feelings you describe have gone away with time. Raising a kid requires other family to be present and I don't have it. It's just not for me.
I'm in my 60's and have seen a change that may resonate with you. IMHO, pre 70's, when a man and woman married, both of their mindsets were, "having children was part of their union." In other words, children were important, but they, husband and wife. were always at the center of the family unit, because the woman knew she needed the man for primary support. Now, it seems when children enter the relationship, the woman's minset (despite what she says it is) is "our marriage is part of having children." Therefore, she pulls the children to the center with her and pushes the man to the fringe, because in her eyes, he's not seen as necessary to survival as in the past. She begins withholding sex, affection and intimacy with the husband. This leaves the husband feeling unloved, unwanted and unappreciated, which he is. Sad times.
I’m 37 yrs old no husband or kids. I’m not against marriage and children but I’m not desperate for that either. I’m totally open to companionship but ultimately I truly want to be happy in life period. I enjoy having alone time to recharge my battery it’s necessary 😊
47 yrs old man divorced after 12 years lived in my car for a yr and had to move back home. Guys, I wasted 14 yrs of my life in relationship/marriage. Im so enjoying being alone the peace of mind is out of this world

Every young man in his 20s should play this video every morning before he starts his day.
I see couples in life they might seem happy on the outside but on the inside they going through it. Bills and stress, But as a single man you don't have to through that stress.
Interesting. I cant wait to have a wife and kids.
I'm in my seventies with no kids. Smartest thing I ever did as a young man was have a vasectomy.

So true , I’ve said for a long time it’s cruel to bring a new baby in this world. Also the sad thing is got kids having kids now then leaving grandparents to raise them. I’m single and no kids in my 40’s and I get lonely at times. But I don’t want kids and definitely don’t want to get married just because everyone says I should.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I believe this advice is good for women too, not just men. I'm a woman and the thing that bothers me most about men is they are always hitting on me. I'm so glad I don't have to put up with them in a close setting and can do whatever I want to do anytime I want to do it. I have no stirings and I'm loving life. I'm much older now and it gets better and better without a "partner" in life.
I am 64 years old and I have never been married nor I do have any children, and I don't regret it at all. The single life for me is the best life, and I would like to tell all single men, " don't let the world try to shame you for being single, especially the so-called church ". Great video Nomad. The Bowtie Professor!

I agree I never wanted a family of my own for various reasons. Also it’s better to actually want kids then to have them because it’s what your “supposed to do”. It’s not fair to yourself, your significant other or the children.

Your ability to self asses your situation is a gift. I think everyone needs to be able to do this and it is not easy. I am single and I have thought at times this is the best time in history to be single because of the internet. T.v. was great when I was young but the internet provides a certain level of on demand interaction not found anywhere else. Good video!

Great and the most crucial, life pivotal topic thank you Sir. I'm glad to be single rather than signing that contract to look after her linage which so unfair. When single you don't have that nagging wife poke at you ever day, I also remember your decade principle, where the old girl changes physically and mentally and turns into this boring disinteresting being where death is the only way out. Never sign your life away 😉

@inspirationalnomad

No, because even with money there is still a level of suffering & despair in life that is not fair for a child to be forced into. Same with a relationship, money does not solve all relationship problems, its good to experience love & relationships but it is also very taxing on the soul. At some point being single is a blessing to finish your time in this world.
