Getting My Roommate Hooked on Film at the Salt Flats

Фильм және анимация

On this episode, I head out to the Salt Flats with a couple of friends to escape the city and kick off my roommate’s film photography career with a suitably salty start. I lent Eli the canon T70 and a roll of Kodak Pro Color 100, packed up the Leica R3 with some Portra 400 for myself, Glen grabbed his R6.2, and we hit the road on a mission to take some photos in the middle of nowhere.

If you’ve never been out to the salt flats and you live in the Salt Lake area, or you’re in the area and looking for something to do, it’s certainly a sight worth seeing. The sheer expanse of nothingness is incredibly impressive and can lend itself to some cool photography opportunities. This trip gave me a handful of great ideas for both future digital and future film shoots out there in the middle of nowhere, and it served as a great escape from the current state of affairs, if even for just a few hours.

Nice! I really need to shoot there ... but probably with a model. Great call on bypassing the zombie horde and picking an isolated spot.
