Don’t give in to societal ideals. Do what makes you happy. You have built a brand and an enviable life. Thank you for your vlog and all you share with us.

Do what makes you happy is not good advice.

@@bethmcmullan7686 Apparently 62 people other than me disagree with you.
You’re always so incredibly open and vulnerable with your thoughts Obi and I think that’s why so many of us can relate to you, because you’re brave enough to vocalise those heavy moments that we all go through. As for worrying about societal expectations… don’t. Life is for living YOUR way, on YOUR timeline. It might seem like some people are ahead, or they found their purpose earlier on but believe me, they will have different struggles - maybe some that you will be lucky to never have. There is no checklist to life and if anyone is judging you for where you’re at currently then they’re not company worth keeping. At age 36, I’m in the depths of my own journey and finding out my authentic self, doing the inner work to undo the societal conditioning I had growing up and realising that what makes my heart sing is what I need to focus on to feel truly happy at my core. Keep that in mind next time the anxiety hits. Biiiig hug ❤

Dullest KZreadr ever.
As a South African, your accent is the coolest!
I love your vulnerability Obi , I’m 36 and still trying figure out what I want out of this life for myself and not what society thinks I should have by a certain point in life so thank you ❤️
Thank you for sharing and for your honesty. Challenges in life is what makes us all stronger. Keep pushing and if you know it or not you have impowered many people around the world.
Unfortunately many of us are now suffering from the effects of our own excess introspection. There’s too much “what do I want, what serves me best, what should I be getting out of life?”

"Hard times come and hard times go" Well enough said

Hard times come, hard times go! That encapsulates your experiences. You are a great inspiration, keep going!
Absolutely loved that vlog, as usual. I literally never comment on social media, but man Obi you're such an inspiration and drive to be the best version of ourselves. There's a sense of peace that comes of the videos. Loved the mix between the workout section and chill and talk side of the vlog! 💯
Thank you so Much for your transparency. You’re definitely an inspiration to so many of us. Stay up king!❤
Usually not a fan of vlogs but yours are amazing bro. Nice to see your insight into getting back to training from an injury and mental health. Loving it, thank you🙏🏾❤
Men's Health Mag!!!! DOPE will always be DOPE

Thank you for your honesty, Obi. I believe many of us can relate to feeling lost in life, but it's a comfort to know that you're not alone. I always appreciate watching your vlogs, they're very calming and make me happy :) keep being you! much love
Love the consistency
Thanks for being vulnerable with us Obi 💛. I kept going back to "my body was perfect during the pandemic why did I fall off the wagon?" After speaking to a friend and telling her to kind to herself I realised that I had to do the same for me as well. It's been a hard thing to do but I'm getting there slowly 🙂
Love the videos always inspiring me to do more thank you Obi! 🙏
I always admired your honesty .. as many other fitness influencers aren't that transparent or just honest and sort of just play a character
Thank you for just being you.
❤hey Obi so good to see you I am one of your biggest fans and enjoy 😉 watching you much love ❤️ and you will figure it out with Gods blessings ❤😘
Always happy for a new dose of ASMR vlog from Obi. Keep it up mate!

Thanks for sharing your leg warm up.
I agree with you Obi be kind to yourself..bad habits are just that BAD, they keep us stuck & they're so hard to break🥴 but thy also bring us to the path of new!
Hey obi, love your channel, so relaxing and great to watch! Any tips for people looking to start crossfit? I'm a weightlift but really want to do more functional training and be fitter!!
Great video so motivational. Great to see you can get back into fitness after breaking for your surgeries. As I lost a load of weight in 2 years put half back on. I was so busy and needed a break ready to train again. I was so happy training. Will definitely use your advice thanks.
It was amazing and best workout I have seen , though it was basics but the way he performed it was amazing . Sticking to basics and performing any task with new skills is a task and he very well done that thing❤
Obi always brings the vibes
It’s amazing to see you talk on body dysmorphia, it’s something loads of men go through but too afraid to speak on!
I would love to see who could hate one of these many videos you put together and for the music selection it’s another level 👊🏾
LOVE UR VLOGS keep goimg!!!
thanks a lot of sharing
Watching you from South Africa my brother ❤
You seem happiest in South Africa. I’d be very surprised if you didn’t end up there, even if just for a period of time! I am considering leaving my stability to pursue something similar. Wishing you the best, Obi!
I am now more than 40 and I remember that when I was in my mid 30s I also felt like I was not like the standard person, no house, no car, no kids. Life is a surprise, each person has a different path and a different personal mission to accomplish. Live your life and let others live their life
Im 30 and ive been training since i was 17 and i still compair myself to 23 year old me cause thats when i looked my absolute best...same as you ,i always pick on the bits i dont like about myself all the time
I feel ya! I started out good last year and then broke my wrist (on my birthday of all things!!!) and had to have two surgeries. I had to take a long time off to recover. It’s been about 7 months back but I’ve had to start all over and start slow. I still can’t lift a lot with my wrist
People’s opinions don’t matter only yours matters because it’s your life and u can carefully take your time to make the right decisions I wish I had that in my life when I was younger ❤I’m from MISSISSIPPI
You seem to like traveling and fitness, so keep on doing it. No reason to stop doing that.
Hey bro! A word from my experience and an eye opening conversation with my doctor in my 30's. You want to enjoy fitness and love your body with its ups and downs. Enjoy the journey because when you get to 50 like myself, you will not glamour at the your best physique but you want to be thankful that on any day you gave your best and that was enough. Do not measure yourself against a standard. Just love the fact you are fit and healthy. If your body changes...let it change. Accept the differences. It's part of your body's journey. Enjoy moving your body and your life at the same time.
To be fair i find that those who just do what society says do aren't successful. Those who wait usually end up more content in the end. I think that's why divorce is so high people are just marrying having kids etc only to divorce and try to find true contentment. I say do that first before you couple yourself to someone and create children. Buying a home is a huge financial commitment that should be given serious thought as well. I wouldn't worry about society you're doing just fine.
I'm 36 and in a similar situation. No kids and no partner. I understand what you mean. I reflect a lot on what society says I 'should' have done by now. The thing is, I am incredibly happy with my life and where I am going.
наискорейшего выздоровления друг!!!
Moved out of London and you keep me in touch. P.s. what was that zip hoodie pre workout? Rep?
Obi you're awesome!!! Have you tried creating a different channel for fashion? I bet you'd kill it! I'm probably not the best demographic since I stand 5'3 and female LOL, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching your channel because of YOU. I really enjoy how 'real' you seem on camera - haven't met you, but you seem really cool. I hope you find your 'aha' moments - there's plenty of them and I'm sure they'll hit you when you least expect it.
Lekker bru 🤙🏻
Okay real question Obi, do you not feel like vivobarefoot shoes are too expensive for what they are? If there's less fabric should we not be paying less money? I know some people will pay well over $200 for shoes, but I've never been one of those people. It just sometimes feels like vivo is taking advantage of people that are willing to invest in better foot health.
I totally relate to the message in this vlog. At 37 no house, no car even though I have the means to buy both. I just feel it is not for me even though at the same time I feel the pressure to do as my peers: house, kids and picket fence. 😬
Keep going pro
I know you probably have gotten smaller or less shredded/aesthetic… I’m not taking away from the nuances that you feel and see… but I promise you the majority of us CAN’T tell! You still look shredded… you still look like you walked off the set of men’s health 😂. Maybe you were bigger or more shredded 10 years ago… but you are still shredded AF even after not working out for 3 months.
NICE, TRY VIRGINIA IN THE SPRING, STAY BLESS
❤❤❤
Do you track your macros . If so , what are your ranges . Training in 30 is a different beast … thanks in advance
❤❤
You don't need to have it all figured out. Even if you did, would that ever be enough? Ask yourself what keeps you driven... your answer could change depending on your situation, but that's the beauty of life..
Who decides that you should have kids, car, house, already know what you want. Who decides? Living life to fullfill others expectations is life live by them, not living your authentic self, no reason for shame or justification. Important people will loving you and understand you just the way it is. If others dont, is not your bussiness, you cannot control them and no need to accept you. If you feel your value. Im in similar situation, pretty out of "normal" thats why it touched me and have understanding that its not really a pleasant to deal with such a preasure, which can be result, but its only part of our mind, that feels worries, couse it protects us from being hurt, so its ok, its good, this means our body take care about us, to feel also something bad to not being as aspected from others is good and normal sing. People who has good heart will respect you as you are without judging and understand, that each life story is comletely different and everything has good reasons. You are absolutely normal, you just reacted on cimcurstences you were faced in life. I wonder about your insomnia psychological couse. Do you know, why your nervous system is still alert like expecting danger so is not able to switch into calm mode when you feel safe and not threatened? Do you got emotional stres from something? Also you mentioned you got something, that if you achieve something you feel like its not good enough, it come from your childhood for sure. Therapy would surely explain where it comes from and would fix this symptom of not able to feel real appreciation for you, to feel your value. Hopefully youre not mad reading this. Its just my feeling about you and it could be completely of out place, so if it is, excuse me, not meaning in bad or arogant way, just from interest about you, couse these are very important and delicate topic, so worth mentioning like this. If you red this far, its good :) Have a good one brother, you live very extraordinary life I would be very proud to live.
That was a great realization alot of men in their 30s come to. Figure out what u need to get to the 4th dimension. 🖖🏿💪🏿🏁
I find you excellent. Bronx new York
Hey Brother! Just wanted to share something that came up when you mentioned about your dream of buying a home and not knowing if you want to be in london forever. Something that has been coming up is the conversation of impermanence. I dunno about you but ive lived in many different homes in New jersey alone and now living in portugal. I think possibly making that dream come true and if you decide to sell it or rent it either way there are many options. Thank you for your videos! Keep em coming!
Do what's important to you. Some of us start early, some take our time and start later.
im also going against that grain. all will happen at its right time
I’m basically in love with you. Come back to Miami ❤
Hello where do you training in London obi ? I want to go to London and meet you !!💪🏼👍🏼 To train together of course !!
Many people in the UK who are not wealthy Boomers struggle to find suitable housing for purchase so don't be hard on yourself. What is considered "successful" a generation ago doesn't always apply in this period of time, especially given the current economic and business climate.
The man can eat! I respect that. lol
People tend to criticise you , but deep inside probably your lifestyle is their utmost desire the couldn’t have reached … just ignore what society says
How are you??
🤍🌅
At least you have friends.
你真的很喜欢中餐啊!
If your a reader bro Id recommend the audio book "A Converstaion with God" by Neale Donald Walsch I think it might bring some clarity to your situation. Peace brother!
thank you for honesty, I know you may dont want to answear, which is completely fine but I will ask why are you alone? and have you considered therapy? Im just curious, I have sympathy for you. Have a great day brother
There are enough NPCs in the world as it is, you don't owe society anything. No prizes are given out for following some imaginary rulebook. ;)
sounds to me London isn't for you. you give USA vibes to me.
Obi do you live alone by choice? You have a lot of beautiful friends around you. Maybe one is for you.
Good - at least you recognise talking about yourself in the third person is cringe 😬😬
Obi, you do you. Also, please bring out some more t-shirts, my black t-shirt is way overworked!
Black man who actually lives in London, thinks that he’s living in Japan as an anime character 😂
Obi, a man’s prime is between their early to mid thirties to about 43. Fortunately men have it easier in that aspect. Wherein women kinda need to have it all figured out by their late 20’s. You are in your prime. Remember that.
