Definitely a mini pile momma here. It helps keep it manageable for me and not an overwhelming mountain........(throwing the side eye your way Tal🤨) My piles normally consist of blacks, whites, denim, work, hunting(if in season), underwear/socks/bras, towels, and last bedding(every other week) and both my daughters(11&12) are mini pilers too.

Laundry piles are a must in my household. It's a generational thing in my home. We were taught to sort the laundry out by white, Dark, Colored, and Jeans separately. Past on from Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mom, myself and this is how I'm teaching my children.

I absolutely sort laundry that way, on the floor sorted, then into the washer. Then when it’s all off the floor, the floor gets swept and mopped, after the dryer lint trap has been all cleaned out. Now does this happen EVERY laundry day? Nope. That’s a weekend task when I have more than 2 loads to do/sort. You’re both doing it correctly and are amazing!!!!

No, that is the normal and right way to do clothes! I am 40 years old and was taught at age 10 or 11, to do Landry, clean, etc. I was taught to separated the clothes the same way with colors, Lights with lights, darks with darks, whites together, towels together, and covers together. Never to wash or mix these things together.

OMG! I didn’t think guys did this, the separation of clothes before washing! I do it all the time, that’s how my mother taught me, and it kills me that my husband and two sons don’t. It’s my biggest pet peeve when it comes to washing clothes, that they sit there and pick from the huge pile of clothes. Drives me nuts! And then they get mad when they end up bleaching a colored garment with the white load, or the color bleeding into their whites, or they end up with dingy white clothes cause they were washed with the colored clothes. So, yes, your not the only one. Good job!❤
