Why do people think that as soon as they get married they need to buy a house. Why not wait a year or two, and pile up a bunch of money.

Hi Mr. Ramsey, I have been binge watching your videos for a week now, I find them very simple, informative and helpful. My father agrees with you on avoiding debt and he lived his life the same way. But, I recently found out about, "house hacking", which millennials are digging it to acquire rental properties through FHA loan and renting different portions of house to different people and earning more than monthly mortgage. Personally, I think this is very complicated and risky. What do you say? I'm not from USA, so asking here in comment section, I don't know how else I could connect with you? I would be glad, if anyone else can explain/discuss about this. Thanks

Never underestimate the power of renting for a short season to recalibrate your finances to save for bigger, long term investments like a house. I know people say you're throwing money away renting but in the aggregate, renting is a good short term solution until you find that house you can afford.

This young guy is so jaded. He really believes he knows EXACTLY how much their salaries will be, before graduating? Come on, who ever is giving this young couple advice is full of crap. I’m so glad he called Mr Ramsey, he gave some great insight and advice. The fact that this young guy really believes he knows how much they both will make after graduation is a sign that he is not living in a real world scenario. Why are they in such a rush to get married, buy a house, and start their new jobs? How about slowing down and stop listening to people who are lying to them about their beliefs in their actual salaries. Jobs are not guaranteed, especially when you are a newly graduating. I hope they slow down and stop trying to hurry and do everything right out of college, it’s not realistic.
